🎃🤘 What a night! 🤘🎃

This past weekend our Rochester Police Department FROGs celebrated at the Tap House with a pre-concert gathering. The Halloween decorations set the mood, and there was plenty of good food, laughter, and time to catch up before everyone headed over to the Mayo Civic Center to rock out with Hairball!

Nights like this matter. Our officers and their families carry a lot for this community, and getting to just have fun together builds the kind of connection that carries us through the hard days too.

"Who are the Chaplains for the Chaplains?" We hear that question often, and the answer is - each other!

Our Rochester Fire Department chaplains, George, Kelli, Shari, and Abe, took some time to share lunch at the Canadian Honker, one of our favorite spots in town. Time around the table together helps our chaplains recharge so they can keep showing up for the firefighters and families they serve.

A special thank-you to Rachel and the Honker team. You're some of the best waitstaff in Rochester, and you always make us feel at home!

Happy Birthday to our Executive Chaplain, Shari Cape! 🎉🎂

Shari has been part of the Salt & Light family since 2024, serving our first responders with compassion, wisdom and a steady presence on both the ordinary days and the hardest ones. This past summer, she stepped into a new role as our full-time Executive Chaplain, leading and supporting our team of chaplains as we continue to grow.

Shari, thank you for the countless calls you've answered, the scenes you've stood in, and the way you pour into our chaplains, our first responders and their families. Your heart for this ministry shines in everything you do.

Strong bodies, strong minds, strong hearts. 💪💙

The Rochester Police Department recently hosted a First Responder Health & Wellness training with instructor Chief Steve Petrilli. First responders from 13 different agencies came together to learn practical tools for diet, nutrition, and exercise to help them stay healthy for the demands of the job and for life at home.

Brisket, fellowship and a whole lot of heart! 🍖🔥

This past weekend, Heather Nessler and Erin Sexton cashed in on their winning bid from our Heart for Heroes Gala: the Chaplain Brisket Dinner!

Our Rochester Police Department chaplains rolled up their sleeves to prepare and serve a delicious brisket feast. Chaplain Adam Molina even gave everyone a quick lesson in the art of brisket making. (Trade secrets were shared… mostly. 😉)

But the best part wasn't the food. It was the evening of great conversation, laughter and fellowship around the table.

Thank you, Heather and Erin, for your generosity and for supporting the chaplains who care for our first responders and their families. And thank you to our RPD chaplain team for serving up such a memorable night!

This was the first year we offered the Brisket Dinner as a gala auction item, and we're planning to bring it back in 2027. So start planning now to bid and win! 🙌

💙 Grateful for Community and Connection! 💙

We had a wonderful weekend at Christ Community Church as we hosted a ministry partner table and had the opportunity to share the heart and mission of Salt & Light Partners!

Between services, we enjoyed meeting so many people, answering questions, and sharing how we walk alongside first responders and their families through the challenges and joys of life and service. We were encouraged by the genuine interest people showed in learning more about caring for those who dedicate their lives to caring for others.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to Christ Community Church for your continued support and partnership! Your willingness to help us share this mission makes a difference in the lives of the first responders and families we serve.

Together, we can ensure that those who serve our communities know they are not alone. 💙

⛰️ Strengthening the Mission. Supporting Those Who Serve. 💙

Recently George and Christine Beech had the privilege of traveling to Protectors Peak in Idaho, a respite center for first responders led by Nate and Becky Harder. Salt & Light Partners is grateful to partner with Protectors Peak and help connect first responders with a place to rest, recharge, and receive care.

While there, we joined other leaders of ministries that serve first responders for a special retreat organized by Mission First Alliance. It was a meaningful time of connection, encouragement, and collaboration with others who share a heart for caring for the men and women who dedicate their lives to serving others.

We are thankful for Nate and Becky and the work they are doing at Protectors Peak, as well as for Mission First Alliance for bringing ministry leaders together. The work of supporting first responders is not something any of us can do alone. We are stronger when we learn from one another, encourage one another, and work together to care for those who carry so much.

At Salt & Light Partners, we believe first responders deserve to be cared for just as faithfully as they care for their communities. We are grateful to be part of this mission! 💙

🚒🔥 Celebrating Fire Prevention Week! 🔥🚒

Fire Prevention Week is a great reminder that fire safety starts with education, preparation, and strong connections within our communities.

On October 6, local fire stations opened their doors to the public, giving families an opportunity to meet their firefighters, explore the trucks, spray a fire hose, and learn more about the important work our first responders do every day. ❤️

Our Salt & Light Partners chaplains were grateful to be there too — meeting members of our community, spending time alongside our firefighters, and supporting the men and women who serve and protect us.

From curious kids climbing into fire trucks to firefighters sharing their time and expertise, it was a wonderful day of connection and community.

We are honored to care for the mind, body, heart, and spirit of our first responders, their families, and the citizens they serve.

Thank you to our firefighters for all you do — not just during Fire Prevention Week, but every single day. 👨‍🚒❤️

🍎🎃 Family, Fun & Fall at Northwoods Orchard! 🎃🍎

There’s nothing quite like a beautiful fall evening spent together! On Sunday, October 4, the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office FROGs (Family Readiness & Outreach Group) gathered at Northwoods Orchard for an evening of family fun, fellowship, and plenty of fall favorites.

From exploring the corn maze and pumpkin patch to enjoying hayrides, apples, homemade donuts, and c***r, there was something for everyone! 🍏🍩🚜

Our chaplains were there to spend time with the families we serve, build relationships, and simply enjoy being together outside of the everyday demands of first responder life.

We’re grateful for opportunities like these that remind us that supporting first responders means supporting the whole family. ❤️

Walking Together for Hope 💙🖤

On Saturday, Salt & Light Partners was honored to participate in the Out of Darkness Walk in Rochester, raising awareness and showing support for those impacted by su***de and mental health struggles.

Thank you to EC Cape and Ellen Hegge for representing Salt & Light and helping us be part of this important event.

At Salt & Light, we believe caring for first responders and their families means caring for the mind, body, heart, and spirit. Events like this remind us that none of us are meant to walk through difficult seasons alone.

Together, we can bring hope, build connection, and remind people that they are not alone. 💙
