We were out taking photos for social media today when Miss Hazel gently reminded me to stop and smell the flowers.

A good reminder, really.

In the midst of busy schedules, to-do lists, and trying to capture the moment, sometimes the moment itself is waiting quietly for our attention.

These beautiful blooms, lovingly grown by Janelle, were worth slowing down for.

The recent losses within Minnesota's first responder community are a heartbreaking reminder that those who spend their lives helping others often struggle in silence.

Our hearts are especially with the families, friends, and fellow first responders now navigating the complex journey of su***de loss.

Postvention is prevention. Supporting survivors after a su***de is a critical part of reducing isolation, fostering connection, and preventing future loss.

Today, we also recognize the courage of those who attend our Survivors of Su***de Loss Support Group and others carrying this grief.

Your stories matter, and you do not have to walk this path alone. 🤍

This morning, Cup of Comfort gathered, bringing together people from different walks of life who share a common experience—the many losses and transitions that come with being human.

Stories were shared. Laughter was heard. New connections were made. And for a little while, no one had to carry their grief alone.

A special thank you to Forte of Rochester for generously providing the space and supporting opportunities for meaningful connection. And thank you to Hy-Vee for the delicious sweet treats that added a little extra comfort to the morning. 🍩

These gatherings remind us that healing doesn't always happen in grand moments. Sometimes it begins over coffee, conversation, and the simple realization that others understand.

At the close of each group, we end with a shared reading.

One line at a time. One voice after another.

There is something powerful about hearing each person speak a single line into the circle, knowing we are holding space for one another in the tender, complicated, courageous work of grief.

Different stories. Different losses. Shared humanity.

Sometimes the reading says what we cannot yet find words for ourselves. Sometimes it simply reminds us that we are not alone.
