The Life Ring Foundation® is a nonprofit headquartered in Roanoke, VA dedicated to uplifting children & family-based organizations by throwing them a life ring in times of need. Through personal experience with their daughter’s pediatric cancer journey, Co-Founders Kelly & Jessica Woolwine have made the primary mission of the Life Ring Foundation® to be the Fighting Kids Cancer℠ campaign. The Fighting Kids Cancer℠ campaign exists to fund additional, lifesaving resources for the pediatric oncology and hematology program in partnership with Carilion Clinic. Together, we are working to ensure more children and families can access top-tier, lifesaving care close to home. For many families, traveling far from their hometown and support system during a medical crisis is not only emotionally overwhelming, but simply not possible. By investing in care right here in our region, we help remove barriers, strengthen outcomes, and give children the opportunity to heal surrounded by the people and places that matter most. Join us as we bring hope, access, and lifesaving healthcare to Southwest Virginia—so every child has the chance for a brighter, healthier future.

👀Looking back on the Experience hosted by at the Memorial Invitational 💛

It was a powerful reminder of what can happen when the golf community rallies around a cause bigger than the game - helping ensure children receive the care they need at local children’s hospitals.

At the Life Ring Foundation and through our Fighting Kids Cancer mission, we’re working every single day to make sure children facing pediatric cancer and blood disorders in Southwest Virginia have access to the resources they need where they need them. Close to home, close to the people who love them most 🙏

If three kids with a lemonade stand can raise over $6,400 for Fighting Kids Cancer, just imagine what we can do together 💛🎗️

Meet the Squeeze Squad: John Henry Hamlin, Keaton States, and Jack Silcox.

They set up a table last week, poured some lemonade, and showed an entire community what it looks like to show up for kids battling pediatric cancer and blood disorders in Southwest Virginia, one lemonade at a time 🍋

They raised $6,400 to date, and they plan to do ANOTHER Lemonade Stand June 26th! 🙏

There is no such thing as a small act when the stakes are this high. Every person who gives, shares, or simply shows up becomes part of something that outlasts all of us, and that’s what we are, a community that refuses to let its kids fight alone 💛🎗️

Brain tumors remain one of the most common and devastating forms of pediatric cancer, affecting thousands of children each year. Behind every diagnosis is a child whose dreams, laughter, and future deserves every chance to shine.

At the Life Ring Foundation, our mission is simple but urgent. Fighting Kids Cancer in Southwest Virginia. We are committed to supporting children and families throughout their cancer journey while helping raise awareness and funding for lifesaving resources where they need them - close to home, close to the people who love them most 🙏

Due to the tremendous support of Charlotte’s Play Yellow Celebrity Invitational in Roanoke, Virginia, the Life Ring Foundation is honored to be invited to this premier opportunity as a top Play Yellow event in the country. Way to go, Star City!

We are proud to stand alongside Children’s Miracle Network who has been a symbol of hope for every child in need of care at the local level across their 170 hospitals throughout the U.S. & Canada.

For us, that care is bringing additional lifesaving resources to Southwest Virginia for families facing pediatric cancer and blood disorders.

Three kids and a goal to raise $5,000 for children fighting cancer 🍋💛

Meet the Squeeze Squad🍋: John Henry Hamlin, Keaton States, and Jack Silcox. Last year they raised $449 for the mission of Fighting Kids Cancer in Southwest Virginia. - proving that anyone, at any age, can make a real difference.🎗️

This year, they’re dreaming even bigger. With determination, heart, and a whole lot of lemonade, they’ve set a goal to raise $5,000 to support kids in Southwest Virginia battling pediatric cancer and blood disorders. Every cup poured is more than just lemonade, it’s hope. It’s support. It’s a step toward ensuring more children can access lifesaving care close to home. 🙏

June is National Cancer Survivor Month 🎗️

But if you’ve ever sat beside a child fighting cancer, you know the word “survivor” doesn’t tell the whole story.

Our Ambassadors and their families do something most people could never imagine 💛

They willingly return to the hardest chapter of their lives and tell their story again and again. They relive the fear, the uncertainty, the pain, and the victories, not for themselves, but for the family sitting in a hospital room today hearing the words no parent ever wants to hear.

They share their journey because they know what it feels like to be overwhelmed, terrified, and searching for hope.

To us, these children and families are more than survivors. They are warriors. They are advocates. They are knights in armor who continue showing up on the front lines to help us Fight Kids Cancer across Southwest Virginia. A fight that they should never have had to face…

Their courage creates awareness. Their voices create impact. Their stories create hope.

To every Life Ring Ambassador and family- thank you. Your bravery is helping ensure that the next child and family facing cancer never has to walk this journey alone 🙏🎗️
