One of the oldest Federated Women’s Club in New Jersey, The Porch Club of Riverton was founded in 189

0 by eight young women who met on a porch as a reading circle each week. Riverton's Porch Club has a proud history of service to the community, the county and the state. Porch Club members meet on the first Tuesday of each month, October through May, and departments hold meetings and plan activities according to their programs. The club is organized into several departments and committees. Porch Club members give many hours of volunteer service through civic, religious and service organizations of their choice.
Membership is unlimited and new members are welcomed after being proposed and endorsed by a member in good standing. It continues to be “a center of thought and action for the women of Riverton” – as well as for others in the community – as was stated as its purpose so many years ago. The Porch Club building is used by many groups, either through rentals or, in the case of organizations such as the Red Cross Bloodmobile, as a service donated by the Club. Each year, the Club gives contributions to local charitable groups and to State Federation projects. The Porch Club of Riverton offers the perfect party space for you to host your next special event. The charming Adirondack style clubhouse was built in 1910 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Our spacious main room has a maximum of 100 guests for a standing cocktail party or 80 guests seated for dinner. The facilities many lovely architectural features add to the charm of this unique venue which is perfect for receptions, birthday and anniversary parties, bridal and baby showers, lectures and fundraisers, quincenaneras, bar and bat mitzvahs, corporate parties and intimate weddings.

The Porch Club kicked off 2026 with their first general meeting of the year, which was a luncheon hosted by the International Outreach Committee in support of World Central Kitchen.

Founded in 2010 by Chef José Andrés, World Central Kitchen (WCK) is a nonprofit organization that is first to the frontlines providing fresh meals in response to crises.

Members brought an entree or dessert inspired by an international country to share, learned more about WCK through a presentation on its work, and raised $780 to support this organization through a raffle and gift basket sales.

To learn more about the important work that the International Committee does, you can visit their web site at
