📚🐞 A new Book of the Month adventure is coming home!

This October, your little one may find "Big Bug" by Henry Cole tucked right into their bookbag! 🎒 This fun story encourages children to look closely, make predictions, talk about what they see, and use their imaginations while building early literacy skills.

But we’re not stopping at the last page! 👀 Throughout the month, we’ll be sharing activities, ideas, and playful ways to keep "Big Bug" and early learning going at home and in the classroom.

Keep an 👀 out and let’s keep making literacy fun!

Passport to Kindergarten (P2K) is officially underway! 🎒📚 Nearly 250 young learners. 19 classrooms. A whole year of learning, literacy and community connections ahead. ❤️

The kickoff brought teachers, families, children and community partners together to get a first look at what’s in store, including hands-on learning experiences, classroom visits and family opportunities throughout the year.

And with the PNC Grow Up Great Mobile Learning Adventure joining the fun, there was plenty to explore from the very start! 🧡

We’re excited to see where this year takes us. Kindergarten readiness is a community effort, and P2K is bringing that community together in a BIG way. 🌟

Our September Teacher Book Giveaway kicked off the 2026–27 school year with "Mango, Abuela, and Me" by Meg Medina, a beautiful story to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.

Shalisha is one of our Kindergarten Readiness Coaches serving the Hope Zone! With more than 19 years in primary and ECE, Shalisha brings a passion for literacy and helping children build a strong foundation for reading and a lifelong love of books. 📚

Shalisha is a friendly face around the office. You can always find her ready with a hello or helping create the next fun way for our staff to stay connected. 🧡
