Today, we were proud to honor our Central Region Hero of the Year, Sydney Billingsley from Dayton, OH Branch 182!

Sydney bravely stepped up in a frightening and uncertain situation, ultimately saving someone's life. "I'm just very grateful that I was able to be there. Right time right place." ❤️

Sidney Billingsley, West Carrolton is in DC for the National NALC Hero’s award ceremony. She has been named Central Area Hero of the Year. Congrats.

Next in our Heroes of the Year series: Central Region Hero of the Year Sydney Billingsley.
While delivering, she heard a man calling for help and found him suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She called 911 and used her firefighter training to apply pressure and keep him conscious until help arrived.

Her quick thinking helped save a life and is a powerful reminder that letter carriers are always ready to step up when it matters most.

📬 When the government shutdown left people struggling, our local letter carriers didn't wait — they acted. Thanks to the National Association of Letter Carriers Shut Down Hunger campaign, our community received a $10,000 donation from our local Branch 182 AND a $10,000 national match.

Letter carriers are on the front lines every single day, in your neighborhoods, at your doors, and in your corner ready to show support.

The NALC also helps stock our shelves every year through their annual Stamp Out Hunger campaign, the nation's largest one-day food drive (coming up in May!) We are so grateful for partners who show up not just at our door, but for our entire community... through every delivery, every food drive, and every effort to make life a little better for the people they serve.
