Caudatowa Garden Club

Caudatowa Garden Club Founded in 1934, Caudatowa Garden Club is member of Federated Garden Clubs of Connecticut.

Caudatowa is the Native american word for "high land", the name given to what we refer to as Ridgefield by the Ramapoo Indians, the areas first inhabitants. The objective of the Caudatowa Garden Club is to promote an interest in and knowledge of gardening. We are involved in a number of activities regarding horticulture, flower arranging and artistic design. The group contributes their time to beau

tify and improve areas in the town of Ridgefield and it promotes friendships through a common interest.

Dear Pollinator Protectors,

The Federal House of Representatives Farm Bill is moving forward for a vote next week. It contains language that threatens to preempt, and thereby nullify, all state and local pesticide restrictions as well as gut the endangered species act, cut conservation funding, and more. If this bill becomes law, our work at the State level to protect pollinators from pesticides is over. All regulation will be set at the Federal level.

Environmental organizations have developed this letter in opposition to the Federal House Farm Bill. Organizations, like your local Pollinator Pathway project, can sign-on to the letter here. The deadline is Friday, April 24.

All individuals, please call or email your Federal House Representative and ask them to VOTE 'NO' ON THE HOUSE FARM BILL.

Here is a photo of Tom Madden and Lynda Hanley, members of the League of Women Voters of Ridgefield. This morning Tom and Lynda picked up litter along the League's designated route on Main Street from the Ridgefield Library to Joe's corner crossing the street and walking back along Main Street to the entry of the CVS parking lot. It was a beautiful morning to be on Main Street.
