Our very own Dina Brewster did an amazing job last week presenting for the National Pollinator Pathway! Watch the recording - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkI6-cw1nIs
Last week, the National Pollinator Pathway hosted a powerful and timely webinar on pesticide use and its impacts on pollinators, wildlife, and human health. The conversation was thoughtful, informative, and ultimately hopeful—grounded in science and focused on real actions we can take at the local and state levels.
We were honored to be joined by three outstanding panelists:
Emily May, Agricultural Conservation Lead with the Xerces Society, provided a broad overview of pesticide toxicity and how its use has increased since the 1990s, with a focus on the impacts of common lawn and garden chemicals—including neonicotinoids—on pollinators and birds.
Lucas Rhoads, As a Senior Attorney on the Pollinators and Pesticides Team at NRDC, Lucas works to protect bees and other pollinators from a wide range of threats, including pesticide use, habitat destruction, and climate change. He advocates at both the federal and state levels for policies that protect these vital species—while employing litigation to enhance and enforce existing protections.
Dina Brewster, farmer and founder of the Northeast Seed Collective, grounded the discussion in real-world experience—sharing how organic farming, local seed systems, and healthy pollinator populations are deeply interconnected, and how communities can support farmers and regenerative practices.
If you weren’t able to join us live—or if you’d like to revisit the conversation—you can watch the full recording here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkI6-cw1nIs
Pesticide-Free Landscapes for Pollinators and People: How We Can Help.
We encourage you to share the recording with friends, neighbors, and local leaders, and to continue these important conversations in your own communities. We've learned that changes that begin locally can grow and make a real difference at the county and state level.
