Today we celebrated Troop 116 scouts, Vishal Basker, Hunar Darvas-Hagen, Joseph Humphrey, Aiden Nelson, Ben Macaraeg, and Nihaar Sankaran, at our Eagle Court of Honor. Each of these scouts worked hard to attain their Eagle rank and it was a wonderful ceremony to recognize their success.

Great turnout this weekend by Troop 116 in the annual Ryan Adams Main Street Cleanup event. We help clean out all the beds on Main Street and spread new mulch to help beautify our downtown.

Launching Life’s Leaders provides recipients with a full scholarship to participate in a local Scouts BSA troop, as well as a partial scholarship for post-secondary education to each participant who attains the rank of Eagle Scout.

Troop 116 was honored to be chosen as this year’s recipient of the Aquila District Polaris Award for outstanding troop at the district volunteer recognition dinner. We were recognized for our outstanding program including High Adventure and for high scout retention. Thank you to all the volunteers in Troop 116 for your dedication and support of the troop.

Ridgefield Troop 116 is inviting all interested 5th - 10th grade boys to our Open House event and information session at Sturges Park, 217 Rippowam Road, Ridgefield on April 13, 2026 from 6pm - 8:30pm. We will be having some fun outdoor games and a campfire and providing information about all the activities and adventures available for those who join our Troop. No previous scouting experience is required.

Great to see a Troop 116 Eagle Scout Christopher Sacchi giving back to the community and sharing his experience with the students.

The RHS Business Department welcomed back 2017 alumn Chris Sacchi for an engaging session on Sports Marketing. Sacchi, representing the Savannah Bananas, gave students a behind-the-scenes look at how the organization completely reinvented the business of baseball.

"This visit embodies our commitment to authentic, project-based learning," said business teacher Jesse Peterkin. "By analyzing real-world case studies like the Savannah Bananas, our students are seeing how innovation, risk-taking, and a customer-first mindset drive actual business success."
