For many, a witch is something you only see on Halloween. They dress in black, wear pointy hats and get around by broomstick. But Lady Rhea, the "Witch Queen...

In old mythology and folklore, the stag often appears where the ordinary path begins to disappear. It steps out of the mist, crosses the edge of a forest, vanishes between trees, and suddenly the human world no longer feels stable.

The stag was seen as more than prey. Its antlers rose like living branches, making it look as though it carried the forest upon its head. Each year those antlers were shed and grown again, turning the stag into a symbol of renewal, strength, death, return, and sacred cycles.

This is why the stag became a kingly creature.

It belonged to the deep wood, the hidden grove, the hunt, the old gods, and the places where humans entered nature with both reverence and fear. To follow a stag in myth was rarely just to chase an animal. It was to be led away from the known road and toward initiation.

Across Celtic and European folklore, white stags in particular were often seen as otherworldly guides. They appeared at thresholds, drawing hunters, heroes, and wanderers into enchanted forests, fae realms, sacred land, or encounters with fate. The stag did not need to speak. Its presence was the invitation.

It was sovereignty without a throne.

Power without a cage.

Wildness that could not be owned.

The stag reminds us that some guidance does not arrive as an answer. Sometimes it appears as a glimpse through the mist, a movement between trees, a sudden pull toward the unknown.

To meet the stag in story is to stand at the edge of transformation.

The forest has noticed you.

And something ancient is asking whether you are brave enough to follow.

Within The Coven of the Maroon Dominion, our journey is collective, but our paths are beautifully unique. We use three primary membership circles to reflect a member’s current focus, responsibilities, and dedication within the coven: Onyx, Maroon, and Gold.

✨ An Important Reminder to Our Community:

These tier ranks are placeholders for responsibility, duty, and spiritual focus—they do not make any member better, wiser, or smarter than another. No matter your circle, every single voice in this coven is valuable, equal in worth, and essential to the power of our collective flame. We rise together, always.
