OPPORTUNITY is defined as a favorable combination of circumstances, time and place; a chance for advancement. The vision of PDM Productions,Inc. is very clear. There is not, nor cannot be an opportunity that can be taken until there is an opportunity given. The production of the “Nutcracker Sweet” and other classical and original
dance, classic and original musical theatre, along with every workshop, is an opportunity given. In working with children (beginning at age 3) and adults in any community, it is necessarily important to have scholarship and financial aid opportunities available for everyone, regardless of the socio-economic lifestyle. The desires and hopes for opportunities are not only for the “under-served”, but for all to be served. Scholarships will be awarded on lots of levels; for merit, performance, need-based, and continuing education, regardless of the age. The financial aid is available for anyone who applies. There will be qualifiers, but you won’t know if you qualify unless you apply. BUILDING ON FOUNDATIONS that have already been established is the best way to begin a relationship within a community. That’s why, regardless of whether we are committing to a performance, or workshop, we will be in contact with whoever is necessary beforehand. Whether it’s a family, business, community leader, faith based organization, or some other person or organization; we know that we need to have some knowledge of the community. What better way than to be in communication with someone who is already there. Our goal is never to only produce a performance or workshop, but to develop relationships. And, if the need is to establish what we can provide on a continuous basis, then we will do what is necessary to make that happen. The plans of having “OPEN AUDITIONS” also means that we know that in some cases individuals may want to participate, but don’t feel as if they have the skills. That being the case, we will go into an area of need ahead of time and prepare them. And whether prepared or not will not disqualify anyone from auditioning. Because it is our desire to not limit a community from doing a production like the “Nutcracker Sweet”, just because someone says, “ You can’t do that there!”
ART is defined as skill acquired by experience or study. the use of skill and imagination in the production of things of beauty. The Arts do not create limitations, but opportunities, regardless of ethnic, racial, social, or economic situations. PDMProductions,Inc. has a vision, but without community partners and community sponsors, achievement will be very limited. If we limit the opportunities that are given, we directly affect the opportunities that can be taken.
