Last week a few of our board members had the opportunity to attend the VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center Women & Wellness Luncheon with guest speaker Chaunte Lowe who gave an amazing & inspiring presentation about overcoming adversity.

This was an amazing event and we were excited to meet & network with other amazing women.

Today, we honor the mothers fighting breast cancer, the mothers that survived breast cancer, the mothers supporting loved ones through illness, the mothers we miss deeply, and the women holding their families together through it all. Today, we stand in solidarity with every woman, family, and community impacted by cancer. We honor the strength of survivors, remember those we’ve lost, and uplift those currently fighting, especially women under 40 navigating breast cancer with courage and resilience. 💕

At A Pink Christmas Foundation, our mission is rooted in advocacy, awareness, and support , ensuring no woman feels alone in this journey. Today, and every day, we remain committed to hope, compassion, and action.

Together, we fight. Together, we support. Together, we believe in a future with more awareness, earlier detection, and greater care for all.

It’s so easy to fall in love with being of service to others 💕

Yesterday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day our board came together for our annual strategic planning meeting. We used this time to discuss our budget & the goals we have this year for helping under 40 affected by breast cancer.

We also took time to write cards for care bags that will be donated to .

We’re excited for the plans we have this year & can’t wait to share them with you.

Beginning in today, breast cancer testing will become more affordable across Virginia.

“Under this legislation, health insurance companies will be prohibited from charging patients co-pays, deductibles or any other fees for breast cancer testing like mammograms, breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRIs) or breast ultrasounds”.

This means no co-pays, no deductibles, and no additional fees for these lifesaving tests. Early detection saves lives, and this law helps remove financial barriers that have prevented too many women from getting the care they need.

If you’re under the age of 40 with a family history of breast cancer from mothers & grandmothers, we strongly encourage you to speak with your primary care physicians about your family history & seek genetic testing to determine if you can begin getting your screenings started.

This is progress. This is advocacy in action. And this is one more step toward ensuring women can prioritize their health without hesitation. 💕
