Maxine Finley Day! August 24, 2026

We invite you to celebrate our beloved volunteer and crossing guard, Maxine Finley. The City of Richmond has proclaimed the week of August 24 in her honor, and we will celebrate the dedication and heart that Maxine has given to our community for decades.
We encourage anyone to bring cards, flowers, any small token to show Maxine how much we appreciate her contribution to our children, school and city.

🚦 Your voice matters, Richmond!

The City is evaluating ways to improve safety, reduce speeding, and address cut-through traffic concerns in Point Richmond while maintaining access for residents, businesses, visitors, deliveries, and emergency services.

Potential improvements being considered include traffic calming measures, raised crosswalks, signal timing adjustments, traffic circles, and other safety enhancements.

We want to hear from you! Share your thoughts and help shape recommendations that balance safety, mobility, parking, neighborhood character, and accessibility for everyone.

Community event:

Tutu is one of our very own Washington students.

Join us to raise money to support Toussaint (Tutu) Flores in his continued fight against cancer! Our brave warrior Toussaint has completed 18 days of radiation and 8 cycles of chemotherapy over the last nine months. With his 12th birthday right around the corner, Toussaint has a wish list of places he’d like to visit. We want to help make his wishes come true and fund a trip for him and his family as he continues his fight against cancer.
