The RHHS Fright Night 5K was an absolute HIT! 🏃‍♂️💨🎃

From Gru and his Minions stealing the show, to a man literally "riding" a snail, and a legendary butter-and-corn duo—the costumes this year were absolutely LIT! 🔥

Our runners came fully prepared to bring the fun, and they did not disappoint. What an absolute blast! 🎉

A massive shoutout to our amazing RHHS Band! 🎷🥁 They broke out into groups and scattered all along the trail, keeping everyone’s energy high and legs moving with their crazy, awesome tunes! 🎶

We are incredibly thankful for every single runner who came out, dressed up, and made this a fun run to remember. You all made the night unforgettable! 🙌💛

🎶 Talk about an absolute masterclass of a day! 🎶

On October 29th, our very own Richmond Hill High School Wind Ensemble had the massive honor of teaming up with the powerhouse musicians of the Georgia Southern Wind Symphony and Wind Ensemble! 🦅🔥

Our students spent most of the day locked in, practicing hard, and trading tips with college musicians. They rehearsed under an incredible lineup of directors: our legendary Mr. Stephen Hendricks, alongside GSU’s finest, Mr. Michael Thomas and Mr. Darrell Brown.

But wait, it gets cooler—our kids also got to share the stage and be conducted by an international guest star! 🌍 Brendan Breslin flew in all the way from Ireland to conduct the band through a few of the epic pieces that he actually composed. How incredible is that?!

When showtime hit, our kids didn’t just play—they absolutely shined and played their hearts out. Big shoutout to our insanely talented soloists who crushed their moments in the spotlight! 🎺🎷

We could not be prouder of the endless hours and hard work these students poured into making this a night to remember.

A massive thank you to all the directors, the fantastic Georgia Southern staff and students for hosting us, and to every single parent, family member, and fan who came out to cheer them on from the stands. You all rock! 🙌❤️

🏃‍♂️👻 Who says the fun stops when the field clears?
The marching band season may have taken its final bow, but we are keeping the rhythm alive and hitting the pavement! 🎺🥁

Dust off your running shoes (and your Halloween gear!) because this Friday is the RHHS Marching Band Wildcat Fright Night 5K! Whether you want to sprint like a drum major, walk with your favorite section, or just stroll through the spooky night with family and friends, this is the event for you!

🏅 Every single participant will cross the finish line and receive a shiny finisher's medal!

🎭 BUT HERE IS THE FUN TWIST:
It’s a Fright Night run, so we want to see your best costumes!
One spectacular participant will walk away with the ultimate trophy for "Best Costume"!

That’s an official wrap on the 2026 marching band season! 🎺🥁✨

We came, we saw, we burned the boats, and we conquered.

From those blistering, humid days of July band camp to the crisp, chilly stadium lights of late October, this season has been an absolute ride.

Our feet might finally stop moving on the left foot, our tans from those long rehearsal days will eventually fade, and our ears might finally stop ringing with the metronome's tick-tick-tick... but the memories? Those are locked in forever.

To our amazing parents, dedicated chaperones, and the incredible equipment crew—thank you for making every Friday night and Saturday competition possible.

To our seniors, the legacy you leave behind is unmatched. You taught us what it means to persevere through canceled practices, oppressive heat waves, and intense competition, showing everyone exactly who we are.

It's bittersweet to pack up the uniforms and step off the field one last time, but we couldn't be prouder of every single superior rating, every drop of sweat, and the absolute family this band became.

Our instruments might be put away for now, but the heart of this band keeps beating.
Thank you for an unforgettable 2026 season! 🖤💛🏆

It takes a ton of expertise to critique the best of the best, and we are so incredibly grateful to have them in the press box!

Every single hour of hard work was all for this moment.

To the parents, family, and friends in the stands: these students are here just for you! We have an absolutely fun-filled celebration day planned, and we want to fill those stands with all the hype and energy these kids deserve!

Meet the Band: (last but certainly not least)- Band #12

The South Effingham High School "Marching Mustangs" marching band, located in Guyton, Georgia, is a highly celebrated program known for its competitive excellence, strong community presence, and high rate of collegiate placement.

The band is directed by Director of Band, Sean McBride, who also serves as the state-level Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) State Band Division Chair, and Assistant Director, Jacob Pilz.

• The program has seen immense success, reaching its largest membership in history during the 2026 season.
• The Marching Mustangs consistently earn accolades on the competition circuit, including highlights like winning First in Best Percussion at the Deep South Marching Competition.
• The program anchors the local marching community by regularly hosting the Marching Mustang Invitational at South Effingham High School, drawing regional talent from across Georgia.

One of the major highlights of the fall season in Effingham County is the relationship between the Marching Mustangs and their cross-county rivals, the Effingham County High School Rebel Regiment.
Despite competing against each other on Saturdays, the two drumlines frequently unite for surprise community collaborations, such as the local United Way kickoff, and merge during the annual rivalry football game to perform a massive, synchronized joint halftime show.
