KALIGRAFOS APRIL MEETING, Saturday the 11TH
This will be an Hybrid meeting from Sherry’s House and available for via zoom for those who can’t attend. It’ll be a busy day with our monthly reunion and a workshop after that. The presenter for this meeting will be Elyce Longazelle the creator behind , specializing in handmade-—potted, artisan resin pen blanks that bring vibrant, eye-catching colors to life. Mentored by Jim Hinze from Company, Elyce has been perfecting her resin-casting techniques for over five years. After our regular meeting will continue with our Wedding Calligraphy Workshop with Nicole Black. (For those attending the workshop, don’t forget to bring your lunch)

Kaligrafos March Meeting this Saturday;

Spring is a week ahead, and Easter just in the corner. We’ll have some Easter themed program with Heather Held’s “ The March Hare”. A fun study of white space modeled with a touch of color, where our rabbit designs will come alive in decorative projects. If you want to participate, just print the handouts mailed to the members, and bring the list of material suggested for these fun projects. The program will be after of our preliminary seconds and announcement from the Guild. This meeting will be via zoom for our members that could’t assist in person.

Kaligrafos will meet at First United Methodist Church in Richardson, 503 N. Central Expressway, Richardson, TX 75080.
Our meeting room is the Ogden Fellowship Hall on the first floor.

Kaligrafos Valentines Social 2026
We can’t wait to meet our members ( and the new ones!) this Saturday the 14th in the Copeland House at the Lovers Lane Methodist Church. We’ll have our annual event of exchanging valentines, having refreshments and winning prizes! We’ll have our can’t thank enough to our volunteers and committee for donate time and effort to bring this traditional event to completion. Our charity raffle has been our major fundraising for our Guild historically, and profusely thank our donors for their generosity. Bring your handmade Valentine, some change for the Raffle, and have a good time.

KALIGRAFOS JANUARY MEETING, Saturday The 10th:

Our first meeting of the year will be packed with activities. This time will have a presentation by Carol DuBosch, demonstrating her whimsical (and deceptively easy) “Jubilee” Script. A simple to learn alphabet that every student can learn and personalize to their own writing style.

Carol DuBosch is a Calligrapher from Portland, Oregon that has a long career as a teacher and designer and his work has been recognized throughout the Continent and Overseas. Apart she has been director of 3 International Calligraphy Conferences in Portland.

For the participants at Carol’s demonstration; bring your printed handouts, paper and pens.

Valentine’s Day Social & Raffle; please bring your donations, assignments and sign volunteers positions.

KALIGRAFOS NEWSLETTER, JANUARY EDITION.

We are back after a busy Holiday season, and we have a newsletter packed with information and reviews. For the general public you can find a copy on our website at Kaligrafos.com.

LUCAS TUCKER WORKSHOP, JANUARY THE 24TH & 31 OF 2026

Come to learn historical calligraphy techniques with and TG . During the last two Saturdays in January 2026, we will learning quill cutting, ink making, parchment preparation, gold leaf, paint making, illuminated borders and analysis of historical hands. This workshop is IN-Person only, but the benefit is a small class size and the ability to watch the instructor and ask questions directly.

The instructor is Lucas Tucker, a calligrapher, teacher and a chemist who has dedicated years of study & practice into the deep understanding of historical calligraphy techniques. We are fortunate having his knowledge brought to us!

KALIGRAFOS’ NOVEMBER MEETING & BAZAAR (Plus Workshop afterwards)

Welcome to our November meeting this Saturday the 8th; We’ll have a full day of activities in and after our regular meeting.
Our guest speaker for this meeting will be Sarah Schulz, talking and showing her experience at IAMPETH (The International Association of Master Penmen, Engrossers, and Teachers Conference) happened in Norfolk Virginia, last summer.
And then, we’ll have our traditional fundraising Bazaar, where members bring their slightly used items to sell during the meeting recess time. Don’t forget to label your initials on your goods to facilitate the work of our cashiers. The guild will have a 10% of every item for fundraising. Don’t forget to bring small change notes…

And for those who signed for Monica Winter’s Workshop (from 1-4 PM) “Legend Alphabet Modernized”, don’t forget to bring your lunch, printed handovers and tools. And Have fun!
