Cathy McCullum Carter Scholarship Cathy McCullum Carter Scholarship Mrs. Carter graduated from Southside High School (now Heidelberg High School) in 1964. She taught U.S.

History and Mississippi Studies for 27 years beginning at Gloster High School, and continuing at Amite County High School, until she retired in 1994. She was known as a teacher who made a difference and touched student’s lives. This was evident as she was selected by various students as Star Teacher on four occasions. In addition, she was recognized for serving as the schools’ National Beta Club Sponsor for several years.
