RHS can take this poor boy with a committed foster.
No dog should ever have to endure this kind of suffering. š Itās heartbreaking to see him in this condition, and he deserves a chance to feel safe, loved, and cared for.
Please let us know if youāre able to help. šš¼

Update 9/29: adopted and is actually in great hands now!!! š©µš©µš©µ
šEDWARD WAS RETURNED AFTER 3 MONTHS IN HORRIFIC SHAPE.
This actually makes me feel so freaking sick.
9 year old Edward was just surrendered back to the high-kill shelter & he is literally unrecognizable. The pic on the left is Edward in June & the pic on the right is Edward TODAY. š
Edward was originally found as a stray on 6/10 with a microchip, but nobody reclaimed him. He was adopted on 6/17, & at that time he looked happy & healthy with a beautiful, bright coat & no missing fur.
Today, Edward was surrendered back to the shelter for being ātoo strongā for the ownerā¦.. She kept him outside, but said he is house trained, gentle, sweet, & good with all animals including all kinds of livestock, dogs, and cats. Heās heartworm positive and didnāt receive treatment, of course. His coat is pale, heās missing fur around his eyes & all over his body from flea dermatitis, & he looks WAY older & defeated. I am devastated that this sweet senior boy has suffered for the past 3 months. He did NOT deserve this.
When my friend visited Edward in June, his entire face lit up. He quietly wagged his tail & flash the sweetest smile. Despite losing everything familiar all over again, he is still such a sweet boy.
The person who originally found Edward kept him for a few days and said he appeared to be house trained, did well with cats & dogs, and knew basic commands. Heās already neutered & seems like the kind of dog who just wants to be close to his people.
As I said in the past, Edward deserves a home, a soft bed, proper care, & a family who will cherish him through his golden years. He didnāt deserve to be left outside 24/7 to suffer. I cannot imagine what he has been through & I desperately want his next chapter to be different.
PLEASE SHARE EDWARD, so we can find him a hero before he ends up in more incapable hands or euthanized.
