Meet Wheezie! 💕 One lucky Great Pyrenees pup whose life is already looking brighter.

A few weeks ago, a kind family reached out to Dallas Street Dog Advocates after noticing a young female Great Pyrenees wandering their neighborhood for about a month after being abandoned at the stop sign near their home. Her condition was deteriorating, her coat was filthy and severely matted, and she was covered in fleas.

This wonderful family stepped up and offered to foster her if DSDA could help. Of course, we said yes!

Today, Wheezie is safe, has seen our vet, is flea-free, and is finally getting the care she deserves. She’s starting to fill out, and her beautiful coat is growing shiny and glossy. What a difference a little love and kindness can make!

She is about 8–9 months old and is scheduled to be spayed at the end of October. Once she has recovered, she’ll be ready to find her forever family. So far, she’s doing great with other dogs and kids, and we think she’ll make a wonderful addition to a loving home.

A heartfelt thank-you to the Good Samaritans who stepped in to help this beautiful girl and opened their home to foster her. It takes a village to save a life, and Wheezie is proof of what can happen when good people care enough to act.

💙 Little boys and puppies… it doesn’t get much sweeter!

D***y is getting a wonderful introduction to family life in his foster home, where he lives with two little boys and a DSDA alum Shepherd mix. And guess what? He absolutely adores his little human brothers!

At just nine weeks old and 13 pounds, this fluffy Shepherd/Husky mix is growing up surrounded by love, playtime, and the everyday adventures that help puppies become wonderful companions.

A home with children would be a big plus for D***y, especially one ready to help him learn his manners as he grows. A friendly resident dog would be another bonus, giving him a buddy to play with and learn from. Since he is so young, a home with an owner home more than not - is essential.

D***y started life under a house in the summer heat, but his story has taken a much happier turn. Now he just needs a family to make that happiness permanent. 🐾

Are you Cricket's Forever Family?

In July, Cricket was rescued from the Fort Worth Animal Shelter with a fractured jaw. Thankfully, those days are behind her, she’s all healed up, and this happy little girl is ready for the best chapter of her life: finding a forever family!

At just under 6 months old and barely 30 pounds, Cricket is a silly, sweet terrier mix who is ready to make up for lost time with lots of love, fun, and adventures.

She gets along with other dogs, is good with kids, and even tolerates cats. Most of all, she loves being close to her people. If there’s a neck available to snuggle under, Cricket will happily claim it!

🎃 D***y is ready to spice up your fall!

Some pumpkins are cute. Some puppies are cute. And then there’s D***y, who somehow manages to out-cute an entire pumpkin patch! 🍂

This fluffy little Shepherd/Husky mix is nine weeks old, weighs 13 pounds, and is already a natural in front of the camera. Just look at that face! He could make any fall photo a whole lot sweeter.

D***y is one of the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs puppies, rescued with his mama after being born under a house in the summer heat. Thankfully, they made their way to DSDA’s loving maternity ward, where they got the care and safety every little family deserves.

Now he’s ready to find a family of his own! A fenced yard, a friendly dog to play with, and kids to love would make his happily-ever-after even sweeter.

ADOPTION NEWS!!!! FOSTER FAIL ALERT! Congratulations to little Ruby on finding her forever home! This little, tiny pup's owner was not able to continue to care for Ruby in the way she deserved. Thankfully, one of our DSDA alumni families fostered her and fell in love! The rest is history. This cutie now has a new mom, teenage sis, and other dog and cat siblings to keep her busy! We're beyond thrilled that our alumni keep coming back to DSDA! Thank you donors, fosters, supporters, volunteers, and adopters! Happy Tails, Ruby!

ADOPTION NEWS!!! FOSTER FAIL ALERT! Congratulations to Ollie (light tan fur pup) and his new family! One of our alumni families reached out to become a first-time foster. They adopted Trixie of the 2022 Bluey Litter and offered to foster Ollie so we could rescue him from the Crandall Shelter. We love it when adopters come back and foster, but the story didn't end there. They fell in love with him, and now he'll have a new forever home with his very own mom, dad, and sister, Trixie!
