Last week, CASAT’s Adrienne Renwick joined counselor educators from across the region at the Western Association for Counselor Educators and Supervisors (WACES) 2026 Conference, hosted right here in Reno.

Adrienne joined Dr. Roberta Miranda and keynote speaker Diaz Dixon, whose address, “Presence, Purpose, and Practice in a Changing World,” focused on leading with trust, clarity, and human connection in complex systems.

Conferences like WACES are a chance to learn from colleagues, share what’s working in the field, and strengthen the partnerships that make Nevada’s behavioral health workforce stronger. Thank you to WACES for bringing this conversation to Reno.

Join us for Confidentiality & HIPAA, a live two-part webinar series focused on practical solutions to the situations counselors face every day. Session 1 is on November 3 and Session 2 is on November 10. Each session runs 3 hours, and you can attend one or both for up to 6 CEUs.

Topics include proper consent for release of information, responding to subpoenas, exceptions to the general rule for releasing information, child and elder abuse reporting, and duty to warn. We’ll also explore conflicts between federal and Nevada law and how to resolve them, using case studies throughout.

Confidentiality and HIPAA continuing education is required for interns and for licensed or certified counselors renewing their license or certificate.
