Voter ID laws are changing across the country, and with the 2026 election approaching, it’s important to understand what these laws mean for voters and voting access.

Join Red Wine and Blue for “Let’s Talk Voter ID Laws: What You Need to Know,” a conversation about voter ID requirements, how they can affect access to the ballot, and what voters need to know to make sure their voices are heard.

Voting rights only work when we know our rights. Take some time to learn what’s changing, what to watch for, and how we can help make sure everyone who is eligible to vote can cast their ballot.

From Biggest Little Action Group:

Join us in a nonviolent standout to demand Reno-Tahoe International Airport and Stellar Aviation de-ICE our airport! Signs will be provided.

Time
Friday, August 14
5:30 – 6:30pm PDT

Location
225 S Rock Blvd
Reno, NV 89502

Every Friday, the Reno-Tahoe International Airport and Stellar Aviation facilitate Trump's ethnic cleansing campaign by allowing ICE "shuffle" flights. Shuffle flights move hostages between detention centers and deportation facilities, away from their loved ones and legal resources. Although at the Reno Airport the ICE hostages are often boarded out of sight, we have observed them numerous times with shackles at the ankles, waist, and wrists. Around the country, ICE hostages remain inhumanely shackled for extended periods and are not permitted to stand or use the restroom on flights. Reports of abuse are common, including reports of using cruel full body restraints.

Meet at the intersection of Rock and Mill on the public sidewalk outside Stellar Aviation. Parking available in parking lots near 200 S Rock. **Do not park in the Stellar Parking Lot.

Want to make some good trouble? Start by knowing who represents you.

Calling or emailing your elected officials is one of the simplest ways to make your voice heard, whether the issue is happening in Washington, Carson City, or right here in our community.

USA.gov makes it easy to find contact information for the people who represent you at the federal, state, and local levels, including members of Congress, governors, mayors, and other local officials.

Save this link. Share it with a friend. And the next time something makes you think, “Someone needs to hear about this,” make sure they do.

From Robert Hubbell:

Many readers ask me for advice on interacting with family members, in-laws, friends, and coworkers who are devoted to Trump and MAGA. Some say they are trying to persuade their loved ones and friends to recognize the truth about the MAGA movement. Others write in despair to say that they have given up, accepting that MAGA has permanently damaged their relationships.

If you are struggling with these issues, I strongly recommend watching my interview of Rich Logis (founder of Leaving MAGA).

From our friends at Red Wine and Blue:

Hundreds of Haitian immigrants in Ohio are being forced to choose between wearing an ankle monitor or risking deportation.

These are people who had Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and have no criminal records. Now, after being summoned for in-person “check-ins” with the Department of Homeland Security, many are being told they must wear an ankle monitor and stay within 75 miles of their homes.

And if they want to go farther? They have to call ICE and ask for permission.
