Do you have a plan to vote?

Voting in Nevada is pretty straightforward, but it still helps to know your options ahead of time.

You can:
-Check your voter registration status
-Learn about early voting dates
-Find your polling place
-Track your ballot if you’re voting by mail

Nevada is a vote-by-mail state, so all registered voters receive a ballot automatically, and you can also choose to vote early or in person on Election Day.

👉 Get everything you need in one place: https://www.vote.org/nevada/

Being prepared helps make the process smoother, no matter how you choose to vote.

Nevada: Register to vote, check your registration, vote by mail, view voter ID laws, find all the dates, deadlines, and forms you need.

“There’s a moment where you have to choose whether to be silent or to stand up.”
— Malala Yousafzai

That moment doesn’t come once. It comes over and over again.
In conversations.
At the ballot box.
In the decisions you make every day.

So when your moment comes… what are you going to do?

Washoe County voters should start seeing your sample ballots and mail ballots arrive next week, ahead of the state’s May 18 mailing deadline.

Voters who do not receive a sample ballot in the mail can still access it online through the Nevada Secretary of State’s Registered Voter Services portal. The site also allows voters to check and update their registration information, manage mail ballot preferences, review voting history, locate polling places, and view elected officials representing their district.

Think your vote doesn’t matter in the primary?
That’s exactly where it matters most.

Primary elections decide who even makes it onto the general election ballot. And in many races, that’s where the real competition is. With multiple candidates in key races, this is where direction gets set.

Translation: if you skip the primary, you’re letting someone else decide your choices later.

Nevada has competitive races up and down the ballot, from statewide offices to local leadership, and those outcomes shape everything from housing and healthcare to education and the economy.

Show up early. Fill out your ballot. Talk it through with people you trust.
Because decisions are being made, with or without you.

Early voting starts Saturday, May 23, and the primary is Tuesday, June 9.

A strong primary depends on people showing up, voting and speaking up for the candidates who reflect their values.

Our May meeting is a Ballots & Beverages party. Ballots start hitting mailboxes around May 11, so bring yours and let’s talk through it together. We’ll walk through key races, share perspectives, and help each other make informed decisions.

If you’re celebrating Cinco de Mayo, let’s be clear what that means.

Cinco de Mayo commemorates the Mexican army’s victory over France at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. It’s about resistance. It’s about standing up to a more powerful force and winning.

It’s not Mexican Independence Day. It’s not just tacos and margaritas.

So if we’re going to celebrate, let’s do it in a way that actually means something.

That includes welcoming, respecting, and standing up for the people who came here from Mexico and the Mexican American communities who are part of this country.

If you’re raising a glass today, maybe also raise your voice. Because celebrating resilience should include supporting the people who live it every day.

“Rebellions are built on hope.”
— Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Hope isn’t passive.
It’s what gets people to organize, show up, and keep pushing. Even when it’s hard.

If you’re feeling frustrated, good. Now do something with it.
