The No Kings: Vote Early national day of action was a tremendous success. Approximately 3,000 events took place across the nation. Although no precise participant estimate is available as of Sunday evening, the total likely runs into the millions. But No Kings: Vote Early wasn't about turnout for the rallies; it was about turnout for the midterms, with the primary goal of encouraging people to vote. By that measure, No Kings: Vote Early was an unqualified success.

It was also the fourth massive nationwide protest against Trump’s lawless regime in less than two years, a remarkable political movement historians will laud when they write the history of this era. But as with prior No Kings events, the media treated a national mass movement as a series of isolated, local protests of no consequence. Although many outlets devoted some coverage on Saturday to the No Kings: Vote Early national day of action, the story had disappeared from most outlets by Sunday.

Learn who represents you. Understand the issues affecting your community. Attend a city council meeting. Contact your elected officials. Speak during public comment. Support organizations doing work you believe in. Volunteer. And when it’s time to vote, make sure you’re informed and ready.

Don’t sit on the sidelines of decisions that affect your life and your community. Show up. Speak up. Participate.

Join us THIS TUESDAY, October 20, for a conversation about the candidates and ballot questions that could shape Nevada's future.

We'll take a closer look at three important ballot questions:
-State Question 6: Right to Abortion
-State Question 7: Voter Identification
-Washoe County Question 1: Electric and Hybrid Vehicle Road Use Fee

We'll break down what each question proposes, what a YES or NO vote would mean, and what you should know before casting your ballot.

Worried about voting rights? Worry alone won’t protect them. Action will.

In this piece from Red W**e & Blue, Stacey Abrams offers a straightforward way to think about protecting the right to vote by asking three questions:

Can you register and stay on the voter rolls?

Can you cast your ballot?

Will your ballot be counted?

Those questions help turn a huge issue into something each of us can act on. Check your own registration. Help friends and family check theirs. Learn the rules and deadlines in your state. Pay attention to changes that could make voting harder. Volunteer, speak up, and help others navigate the process.

Protecting voting rights isn’t something we can leave to someone else. Democracy works when we participate in it, defend it, and make sure everyone who is eligible to vote has the opportunity to make their voice heard.
