Today, we honor Juneteenth—a day that marks June 19, 1865, when federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas and ensured that all enslaved people were finally freed, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

Juneteenth is a celebration of freedom, resilience, and the enduring strength of Black communities. At NeighborImpact, we see every day how opportunity changes lives—and how access, support, and community can shape futures for generations. The work we do is rooted in that belief: that everyone deserves the chance to thrive.

Today we pause to listen, reflect, and honor the history and meaning of this day.
Our offices are closed in observance of Juneteenth.
