The Kiwanis Club of Redmond is the premier service organization in Deschutes County, serving this Central Oregon Community since 1937. It has more than 50 members serving in Redmond's most prominent service club.

Our November Food Drive is extra-special. Not only have we sent a goal to collect 3,500 pounds of items, we are also partnering with Redmond area Scouts, Mrs. Chick at Sage Elementary, Redmond Fire and Rescue, and Dana Signs. You can get in on the action too--at all these collection sites.

Redmond Fire & Rescue is proud to announce its partnership with the Kiwanis Club of Redmond for this year’s Food Drive. This community initiative aims to provide essential food items to local families in need during the holiday season.

The food drive will run from November through December 31, with the collection point at Redmond Fire & Rescue's downtown station, located at 341 NW Dogwood Ave. Donations of non-perishable food items such as canned goods, pasta, rice, and boxed meals are encouraged.

“Our mission goes beyond emergency response—we’re committed to supporting the community in every way we can,” said Ryan Herrera, Fire Chief of Redmond Fire & Rescue. “Partnering with the Kiwanis Club of Redmond allows us to make a real difference for families during the holidays.”

The Kiwanis Club of Redmond has a long-standing tradition of serving the community, and this collaboration strengthens efforts to ensure no family goes hungry this Thanksgiving.

Drop off non-perishable food items at Redmond Fire & Rescues downtown station.

Four days from now, evening tickets for the 43rd annual Festival of Trees go on sale.

The event is Saturday, December 5, at the Deschutes County Fair and Expo Center. The event includes a live tree auction, dinner, and an evening that raised more than $223,000 for hospice, Transitions, and in-home primary care last year. Redmond voted it Best Nonprofit Event this year, so plan on the tickets going fast.

Ms Harrington, Band Director at Elton Gregory Middles School, accepts a check for $3,000. These funds will be used to repair and purchase instruments, along with offsetting the cost to students for participating in band. Participating in band during middle school provides students with strong academic, social, emotional, and cognitive advantages and we are honored to contribute.

At our 10/28/26 meeting, Jennifer Mooney, Director of Activities & Marketing with the Pacific Crest Council of Scouting America, walked us through the progression of this organization serving youth in our area -- including the fact that Kiwanis International has been a supporter since 1913! Their mission has been constant: building character, developing leaders and mentors, learning by doing and service. They serve over 2300 youth with a staff of 19 and volunteers over 1200.

We are thrilled to announce a $1,500 grant to Central OR Baby Resources. Founder, and Redmond Kiwanis member Kiersten Wertheimer, established this non profit when she moved to Redmond and saw a need. Scott and Phyllis Eckstein shared how the tragic death of their sons in March of 2019 resulted in their creation of the Jake and Josh Memorial Trades Scholarship. The fund has grown from a few thousand dollars to now over $400,000. Earnings from the principal funds scholarships for students seeking a career in the trades. We celebrated our 25-26 year and welcomed our new officers for26-27. Carl was recgonized as Kiwanian of the Year, Earl for the most volunteer hours, Dan as MVP and Sheri as Rookie of the year. Then, Kiwanis Lt Govenor installed new officers: Jane as President, Elizabeth as President Elect and Tom as VP. Finally, Jane thanked outgoing President Dave and Dave welcomed in new President Jane. What a night!
