Team Spotlight: Meet Sam Sony 🌟

Sam grew up as a child in Joshua’s House. Today, she is part of the team caring for the children who live there now.

Since 2012, Sam has been a steady, loving presence at the home. After finishing high school, she passed the exam to study nursing at Steung Treng Medical School. Now she works as a nurse at Senmonorom Referral Hospital, and she still makes time for the children at Joshua’s House.

Because she once lived there herself, Sam understands what compassion and support can mean to a child. She is married to Pastor Siem Sun, and together they are raising three children. She also builds close relationships with the children and her fellow staff.

In her free time, Sam visits local villages to share the good news about Jesus and care for children in need. Her lifelong goal is simple: to serve God with her whole heart. ❀️

Sam, thank you for all you give to the children of Joshua’s House. We are so grateful for you. πŸ™πŸ‡°πŸ‡

Our team of five recently traveled to Binga, Zimbabwe, and it is a trip we will be talking about for a long time.

The journey took two days and more than 700 kilometres. Along the way our vehicle broke down, and the team ended up spending a night sleeping in the bush with nothing but open sky above them. They kept trusting that they would get where they were meant to be.

And they did. In Binga, they met people with a deep hunger for God. Some walked 20 kilometres just to attend the conference. By the end, hearts had been restored, bodies healed, people set free, and many chose to follow Jesus for the first time.

To everyone who prayed for this trip, thank you. You covered our team on the road and in every moment of ministry. To God be all the glory. πŸ™

Meet Im Sreypoa, our Counselor at Esther House.

When a new girl arrives, Im Sreypoa is the first to welcome her and her family. She walks with them through intake with gentleness, dignity, and prayer. From there she stays close, documenting each child’s story, working with courts, schools, and families, and planning for reconciliation and reintegration.

She doesn’t just manage cases. She knows and loves each girl, celebrates her joys, and walks with her through healing.

Esther House is stronger because Srey Pao is part of it. Thank you, Im Sreypoa! 🀍

Afternoon at EMBO, South Africa πŸ“šβœοΈπŸŽ²

The room at EMBO Kids was buzzing today, and every child had something to enjoy.

Our older children spent time with their books, then shared what they had read in their own words. It was wonderful to hear what stood out to them and what they thought about each story. Learning to explain your ideas with confidence is a gift that will follow them for years.

In another corner, a board game had everyone leaning in. There was strategy, laughter, and lots of dramatic reactions. Games like this teach patience, focus, and how to think things through, all while having a great time.

Our youngest ones were busy with pencils in hand, carefully shaping their letters and words. Every line they write is a small victory, and today there were many.

Different activities, one happy room, and children who are growing in all kinds of ways. ❀️

Thank you to every supporter who makes EMBO Kids possible. πŸ™πŸ‡ΏπŸ‡¦

Game day at House of Hope! πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸŽ‰

This afternoon our children took part in a game with a funny twist. Choose well and you stay in. Choose poorly and you’ve got to sprint! There was cheering, laughing, and plenty of kids dashing across the yard, and everyone had a great time.

Games like this are about more than fun for us. While the children played, we reminded them how much they matter to one another. They live together, eat together, and grow together, and over time they have become real brothers and sisters. A family looks out for each other, celebrates each other’s wins, and gently helps each other when someone makes a mistake.

That is the home we want House of Hope to be. A place where good choices are celebrated, where laughter fills the day, and where every child knows they belong. β€οΈπŸ‡ΏπŸ‡Ό

Tha Lita came to CambodiaKidz OCTO when she was 6 years old. πŸŽ“β€οΈ

She arrived with a story behind her and a future she couldn't picture yet. But the people around her could. The staff, the supporters, and God, who knew her name long before she walked through those doors.

Next year, she graduates from university as a midwife.

Along the way, Tha Lita has studied hard, kept going when it wasn't easy, and grown in knowledge, in character, and in faith. She carries herself now with the quiet confidence of someone who knows who she is and where she's headed. Soon she will be caring for mothers and welcoming babies into the world. 🌟

At OCTO, we say we're investing in futures. Tha Lita is that future, standing right in front of us with her diploma almost in hand.

We could not be more proud of you, Tha Lita.

To everyone who has supported CambodiaKidz OCTO over the years through giving, praying, and showing up, this is your story too. πŸ™πŸ‡°πŸ‡

Some afternoons at Esther House don't need a big plan. Just paper, pencils, and a table to gather around. 🎨

The room went quiet, as it does when everyone is busy making something. The little ones sat close to their pages, pencils held tight, taking it seriously. The older girls kept an eye out for them and jumped in whenever someone needed a hand.

Then came my favorite part. Everyone lined up with their finished pages, some a little shy, some grinning, all of them proud of what they had made.

Take a look at what they created ➑️

In Zaporizhzhia Province, Ukraine, our Bread2People partners deliver freshly baked bread to the elderly, the vulnerable, and families who are holding on through one of the hardest seasons of their lives. Young and old. They all receive the same message.

Someone sees you. Someone came for you today. And we will keep coming.

War has taken so much from the people of Zaporizhzhia. But it has not taken away the faithfulness of those who show up with bread, with love, and with the quiet declaration that these lives matter.

This is what love in action looks like. One loaf at a time. πŸžπŸ•ŠοΈπŸ‡ΊπŸ‡¦

Something extraordinary happened this week. The walls of Joshua House opened wide and the community poured in, children from different backgrounds and different stories, all gathered under one name. Jesus.

Our team poured their hearts into this outreach, sharing the love of God in a way that was joyful and meaningful for every child present. 180 young hearts heard the truth that they are known, loved, and created on purpose.

For many of the community children, it may have been the first time they ever heard the gospel. Seeds were planted, and only eternity will reveal the full harvest.

This is what Joshua House is about. Not just caring for the children within its walls, but opening up and saying to the whole community, "Come. There is room. There is hope for you too."

Thank you to Cambodia Dreamy Foundation for sponsoring this outreach and making this day possible, and to every supporter and prayer partner who stands behind moments like this.
