Some people spend their lives trying to make a difference. Bobby simply did.
For the past 48 years, he wasn't just the man who wore the Santa suit. To so many of us, he was Santa. Not because of the red coat or the white beard, but because of the heart behind them.
Bobby understood something that so many people miss. Santa isn't just a person. Santa is kindness. Santa is hope. Santa is believing in the good in people. Santa is giving your time, your love, and your heart without ever expecting anything in return.
That's exactly who Bobby was.
Every Christmas, he gave children something they would carry with them for the rest of their lives. He gave them wonder. He gave them joy. He gave them a moment where they truly believed that magic was real. And in doing that, he gave parents and grandparents a gift too—memories they would treasure forever.
He never wanted to leave if there was still one more child waiting. He believed every child deserved their moment with Santa. No one was ever too shy, too loud, too different, or too late. Every child mattered to him, and he made sure they felt it.
Today, his picture hangs on the walls of hundreds of homes. It's carefully tucked into family photo albums and memory books, preserving a moment that meant so much. Years from now, children who are grown with families of their own will look at those pictures and smile, remembering the man they believed was the real Santa.
Because to them, he was.
Bobby didn't just create Christmas memories. He became part of family traditions. He became part of childhood. He became part of our community's story.
It's hard to imagine Christmas without him. Our hearts are broken because we're not just saying goodbye to the man who played Santa. We're saying goodbye to a man who spent 48 years reminding all of us what Christmas is really about: love, generosity, compassion, and believing that there is still goodness in this world.
Thank you, Bobby, for every smile, every hug, every laugh, every story, and every bit of magic you shared so freely.
The suit may rest now, but the spirit of Santa—the spirit you lived every single day—never will.
You gave our community a gift that can never be wrapped and never be replaced.
You gave us magic.✨
And we will carry it with us forever.
