SEPTEMBER IS SU***DE PREVENTION MONTH

While presently our focus has been on raising funds for necessary rural resources, September presents a time to delve into deep reflection on what this foundation has stood for and why it even exists.

SU***DE IS THE LOSS LIKE NO OTHER - PRESENTING COMPLICATED GRIEF SO INTENSE YOU CAN'T BEGIN TO FATHOM IT UNTIL YOU ARE EXPERIENCING IT.

These are not my words but the words of a counselor I once saw who has 30 years experience counseling individuals through this particular loss. She further added that here you have no one and nothing to blame. People will often turn on each other and even on themselves. As if this isn't enough, it is coupled with horrendous stigma and the ugly whispers of those directly unaffected by it. This is what makes it unique. Intense. All consuming and a loss like no other.

This September we pledge a renewed commitment toward compassion and connection. We will continue to strive to be a place of complete acceptance for those struggling and those surviving - to be a place of HOPE, HEALING and GRACE!

CONNECTION IS PREVENTION! COMPASSION IS PREVENTION!

We hope you all feel home here ALWAYS - a place of broken souls mending together one day at a time!
