The Foundation upgraded the 3rd & 4th floors in the Pagoda to have a durable epoxy finish so that it's better for foot traffic...because we have big plans for these rooms. Stay tuned 😎

The Foundation visited Reading Soda Works, who generously donated $2500 toward our restorative efforts, and learned all about their soda making process and how they give back to the local Berks County Community. Visit them at 640 Gregg Avenue. ⛩️πŸ₯€

We are pleased to announce a transition in leadership. At our June meeting Alexa Freyman was elected President and Jennifer Adames Vice President of the Foundation for the Reading Pagoda. Huge thank you to our past President Joey Miranda and VP Marcia Goodman-Hinnersh*tz for your service.

We are excited to lead the charge of this pivotal moment in the Pagoda's history, and bring the Foundation's plans for operations to fruition over the coming months. We know you all are chomping at the bit to visit, and we can't wait to welcome you. Please stay tuned for more on that soon.

"Let's Play Jeopardy!" - Pennsylvania Edition

Clue:
At first glance, this mountaintop landmark looks like it should be part of a much older story, maybe tied to overseas architecture or some grand cultural exhibit. Instead, it began as a real estate gimmick for a resort that never quite became what its builders imagined. More than a century later, the failed business idea is mostly forgotten, while the unusual seven-story structure still watches over the city below as one of Pennsylvania’s most recognizable local icons.

Work is finishing up at the Pagoda and we are looking forward to gaining access to start prepping the interior to welcome back the public! More on that soon but join us outside the Pagoda this Sunday at 1pm for Pagoda Day! April 21st was the 115th anniversary of the day Jonathan Mould deeded the Pagoda to the City of Reading. We will be celebrating by raising a new flag and handing out goodie bags to any members of the public who want to join us there! β›©οΈβœ¨

City officials say construction should wrap up by Wednesday, when they will start removing the construction fences.
