At PMHA, we are committed to continually preserving and improving our housing communities for all residents. Through HUD’s Capital Fund Program, we receive annual funding dedicated to the development, financing, and modernization of our public housing properties.

From major exterior upgrades to management improvements, these investments help us maintain safe, vibrant, and updated homes across Portage County.

Join us for our upcoming Landlord Orientation on Thursday, November 12, 2026 from 5:30 PM- 7:00 PM!

Effective February 1, 2027, HUD is transitioning from Housing Quality Standards (HQS) to the National Standards for the Physical Inspection of Real Estate (NSPIRE). The focus of this orientation will be on the key differences between the two standards and the impact it will have when conducting PMHA inspections.

PMHA Inspector, Chris Hall will be in attendance to answer any questions or concerns involving the transition.

PMHA has been getting into the Halloween spirit and participating in multiple community events!

In the past week, we've had the pleasure of participating in Portage Learning Centers Fall Family Engagement Night, Ravenna Parks and Recreation's SunBOO at Sunbeau Valley, and the Autism Society of Greater Akron's Halloween in the Park!

Thank you to the local agencies for inviting us and all of our staff who volunteered to represent PMHA!

Last Thursday's Mortgage Workshop was a great success!

The goal of the event was to provide participants with tools and resources necessary to take control of their financial future and invest in a home to build equity. The workshop included information about the mortgage process as a whole, how your finances impact your home buying, affordable loan programs, mortgage assistance available and more!

Thank you to Ron Liguzinski of Revolution Mortgage for presenting and helping to organize the event! We'd also like to thank our Homeownership Program Specialist, Crystal Mathews, and Family Self-Sufficiency Coordinator, Lisa Blake, for the hard work and dedication that goes into each of these events!

PMHA is proud to operate 303 Public Housing units across Portage County! Our inventory includes 83 units designated for elderly and disabled residents, 8 for special programming, and 212 family units spread across six apartment complexes and scattered single-family homes.
