Looking to start a new career?

Check out this FREE certificate training coming to Raton, October 12th- 16th. The Installer 1 Basic course covers fundamental network cabling installation and copper work. It does not include fiber, and no prior experience is required to enroll.

For those interested in taking the Installer 2 Fiber class, experience is not required for the course or the practical exam. However, to sit for the written exam and earn the certification, participants must either complete the Installer 1 Basic course (and pass the written exam) or have two years of verified work experience. We will schedule the next level of BISCI certification, which includes fiber, in early 2027.

We have had a great response so far, yet we still need 200 more survey responses to make this information statistically valid. Can you help us reach that goal?

The City of Raton is asking residents to complete a quick 5-minute survey about home internet access, cost, reliability, devices, and technology access and training needs.

Whether your internet is fast, slow, too expensive, not available at your home, or you only use a cellphone — we want to hear from you!

Survey results will help the city:
Map where internet gaps remain
Strengthen future funding requests
Plan for future public Wi-Fi projects
Develop technology support resources

Hi friends! We are getting rid of some materials that were removed from Kearny and put in storage, and now we are ready to dispose of them. Is anyone interested in some older, light office-type fluorescent lighting fixtures, ceiling tiles, insulation, or doors (they weigh about a hundred pounds each)? Check out the pics. We’ve Been Selected as a 2026 AARP Community Challenge Grantee!

El Raton Media Works is thrilled to announce that we have been selected to receive a 2026 AARP Community Challenge grant. This year, only 750 grantees were chosen from 5,100 applications from across all 50 states, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

With this quick-action grant, we will be working with the Raton Senior Center to host 26 weekly in-person technology help sessions to provide hands-on digital assistance, host 3 scam prevention and digital safety mini-workshops, and create 10 technology videos based on the project. This project will advance our efforts to make Raton a place where people of all ages can thrive.
