Strong communities are built when housing, opportunity and support come together.

Congressman Pete Aguilar has been a champion for that vision throughout the Inland Empire.

His leadership has helped secure investments that expand affordable housing, strengthen resident services and create new opportunities for local families.

That impact can be seen at Arrowhead Grove in San Bernardino, where 534 affordable homes and a Community Resource Center are helping create a stronger future for residents.

It can also be seen in his support for services that help children succeed, families achieve stability and seniors remain connected to their communities.

His work reflects a simple but powerful belief: when people have access to stable housing and the resources they need to thrive, entire communities benefit.

For too many young families, the dream of homeownership in California is moving further out of reach.

Congresswoman Norma Torres highlighted a simple reality: California’s housing crisis cannot be solved by any one sector alone.

Expanding housing opportunities will require strong partnerships between government, businesses and communities.

If we want future generations to live, work and thrive in California, we need solutions that increase housing opportunities at every level.

For too many families, the answer is becoming increasingly difficult.

At the Housing Attainability Conference, Jeff Burum addressed the disconnect between housing costs and what working families can afford.

As home prices continue to rise and supply falls behind demand, more young adults are being forced to leave the communities where they grew up.

Jeff highlighted the important role Opportunity Zones can play in attracting investment, expanding housing production and creating more opportunities for residents.

If we want our children and grandchildren to live, work and thrive in the communities they call home, we need solutions that make it easier to build the housing our communities desperately need.

His answer? All of it.

Back by popular demand, CORE Kids Day returned to National CORE for the first time since 2019.

After a seven-year hiatus, it was incredibly meaningful to welcome corporate employees and their families back for a day of learning, connection and fun.

While Bring Your Child to Work Day is traditionally celebrated in the spring, we moved our event to the summer after hearing from employees that the school-year timing made participation difficult for many families.

The result was a day that brought together more than 90 children and created opportunities for families to spend quality time together while getting a closer look at the work we do.

As our corporate team continues to grow, events like CORE Kids Day help strengthen the connections that shape our culture.

Bringing families together allows us to see one another beyond our job titles and build relationships that extend beyond the workplace.

What made the day especially memorable was seeing departments come together to create hands-on experiences for our young guests.

It was an opportunity to step away from our daily responsibilities, collaborate in new ways and share our work with the next generation.

California’s housing shortage threatens the future of the communities we call home.

Recently, developers, elected officials, housing leaders and policymakers came together at the inaugural Housing Attainability Conference with one shared goal: making housing more attainable for Californians.

Organized by National CORE and the Building Industry Association of Southern California, the conference addressed the policies, partnerships and investments needed to increase housing production and expand housing opportunities at all income levels.

Leaders including Congresswoman Norma Torres and California State Treasurer Fiona Ma joined the conversation.

The demand for housing continues to outpace supply across California.

If we want our children and grandchildren to live, work and thrive in the communities where they grew up, we need more homes, stronger partnerships and solutions that accelerate housing production.

Adults 55 and older are now the fastest-growing homeless population in the United States.

As the need for affordable housing continues to grow, communities like Mirasol Meadows and Brookview Senior Villas are essential to ensuring older adults receive access to stable housing and support.

We were proud to join the San Diego Community Housing Corporation in celebrating the grand opening of the organization’s new Fallbrook community Mirasol Meadows, which provides 53 affordable apartment homes for seniors 62 and older.

At the same time, we are celebrating the launch of construction on Brookview Senior Villas, a collaborative effort between National CORE and SDCHC that will add 60 more affordable homes for seniors in Fallbrook. Both communities will create opportunities for seniors to remain connected to healthcare, transportation, services and the community they call home.

Thank you to the many public and private partners who are making these milestones possible.

Today, the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act becomes law, marking the most comprehensive housing legislation enacted in decades.

At a time when communities across the country are facing unprecedented housing challenges, the law modernizes key federal housing programs, updates longstanding policies and provides new tools to help address today’s housing needs.

Just as important, it reflects a broad bipartisan recognition that expanding housing opportunity requires a comprehensive approach.

We must increase housing production, preserve existing affordable housing and strengthen the partnerships that make both possible.

National CORE applauds Congress for advancing this landmark legislation and thanks the many housing leaders, advocates and policymakers whose collaboration helped make it possible.

Housing affordability is one of the biggest challenges facing our nation today.

Teachers, nurses, first responders, seniors and working families are being priced out of the communities they serve.

As housing costs rise and supply falls behind, the impact is felt across our communities.

The good news is that solutions exist.

In an op-ed published this week by the Southern California News Group, National CORE founder and Chairman Jeff Burum shares why solving the housing crisis requires leaders willing to work together, embrace new ideas and build more housing opportunities for every stage of life.

That perspective is reflected in the recent bicameral and bipartisan support for the federal 21st Century Road to Housing Act, which is expected to become law at midnight.

Industry leaders and elected officials will continue to discuss solutions on July 31 at the first-ever Housing Attainability Conference at the Ontario Convention Center.
