✨We are thrilled to announce this year’s Heart of Service Award recipient: Sarah Caron ✨

The Heart of Service Award honors someone whose dedication and hard work uplift our school community—someone who gives their time, energy, and heart not for recognition, but because they truly care.

As PTA Vice President of Communications for the past two years, Sarah has been an incredible force behind the scenes. Week after week, she collaborated with PTA and school leaders to thoughtfully transform ideas into clear, meaningful communications. She consistently anticipated needs, took initiative, and elevated how we connect with families in ways that have made a lasting impact.

Sarah leads with heart in everything she does, and her dedication has made Douglas stronger, more connected, and more informed. We are so grateful for her service, her leadership, and her friendship. Congratulations, Sarah—and thank you for everything you’ve given to Douglas.

🍎✨Congratulations to Mrs. Raines, recipient of this year’s Golden Apple Award! ✨🍎

Mrs. Raines goes above and beyond to make Douglas a special place for students and families. From supporting PTA fundraisers and initiatives, sharing important information on the Daily Dragon, and helping with our silent auction, to being an important part of the team behind the school musical and the implementation of our new sound system, her impact can be felt throughout our school community.

Her positivity, creativity, and willingness to help inspire us all. Thank you, Mrs. Raines, for your dedication to our students, families, and school. This honor is so well deserved!

🌟Congratulations to , recipient of this year’s Legacy Award!🌟

The Legacy Award recognizes a parent who has made a lasting difference at Douglas and is completing their final year with a graduating student. Kate has been a wonderful part of our school community for many years, including her time serving as Hospitality Co-Chair, where she helped create a warm and welcoming experience for school staff at countless events.

She has also consistently been someone who jumps in wherever help is needed, always bringing creativity, flexibility, and a true spirit of service to our school.

We are so grateful for her lasting impact on Douglas! Congratulations, Kate, and thank you for everything, you will be truly missed!

Once a Dragon, Always a Dragon! We are excited to host some of our Dragon alumni on Tuesday, June 9th to do a victory lap of where their education journey began. Graduate check in is at 2:30pm and the walk will begin at 2:45pm. We are excited to cheer on these graduates as they close this chapter and begin their next!!

Field Day at Douglas has become an EPIC experience! It is safe to say, EVERYONE had a BLAST!

When we fundraise people often wonder, “How is this money used?” Well, we could not put on such a fantastic event with YOUR support! 👏🏻This is just one of the many things the PTA is able to do through your generous donations and volunteer hours!

MONDAY is FIELD DAY!!! Coach Patterson and the Field Day team have so much fun planned for you! There will be 💦wet💦 activities and 🌵dry 🌵activities! There will be fun, there will be treats and there will be a whole lotta joy! Be sure to come prepared for another AMAZING Douglas Field Day!

What students need to have the best day:
👟CLOSED TOE shoes
👕a FULL change of clothes (don’t forget a dry pair of underwear and socks!)
🧺a towel
🧴sunscreen!! PREapply!!

We can’t wait to see you all on Monday!!

We're grateful to all the speakers who shared their passions and expertise with our students!
