If your neighborhood is interested in having RPD representation at a neighborhood event, such as National Night Out, the department will do their best to accommodate requests. 4 August is full, but neighborhoods can request the mounted horse police, bicycle police, ACORN, and other specialty units, or just a friendly Raleigh Police Department officer to attend events throughout the year. Our new CAC police officer will attend the August meeting, so please come out to welcome him!

Midtown neighbors, LAST DAY to ACT: The Quail Hollow Cycle Track project is on the City Council consent agenda for July 7 (item C.9.b), and it includes proposed no-parking restrictions on the west side of Quail Hollow Drive that were never part of the original proposal presented to residents. These restrictions would eliminate overflow parking for Quail Hollow Swim Club meets, Eastgate Park, and Douglas Elementary pickup while striving to improve safety for cyclists.

If you are opposed this project and the concerns that have gone largely unaddressed since January, here is what you can do before Monday (today 6 Jul 26) at 5 p.m.:

Read the Project page: https://raleighnc.gov/projects/quail-hollow-drive-green-street-project

Contact District A Councilor Mitchell Silver and request that item C.9.b be pulled from the consent agenda for further discussion.
