Wake County First In Families Supporting people with disabilities and their families to believe in their dreams, achieve their goals, and give back to others.

Our goal is to support people with Intellectual / Developmental Disabilities, Traumatic Brain Injuries, Substance Use Disorder and Severe and Persistent Mental Illness and their families by forming partnerships in our community with area businesses and utilizing area resources. At First in Families of NC, donations help individuals and families access goods and services that may not be covered by insurance or other programs.

That support may include:

🔹Sensory support.
🔹Minor vehicle repairs.
🔹Medical equipment.
🔹Assistive technology.
🔹Other practical daily needs.

These resources can create greater independence, connection, and opportunity for families throughout our communities.

A family in Wake County is currently in need of a large/adult size life jacket for their teenage son who would like to go swimming safely this Summer.

☀️ Beat the heat with Wake County’s Cool for Wake program! ☀️

Wake County residents can pick up a FREE fan at regional centers Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 5:15 p.m. (limit 1 per household).

❄️ Need more than a fan?
One AC unit may be available for delivery to:
✔️ Seniors (60+)
✔️ Families with children
✔️ Individuals with medical conditions

📋 Please note: All residents must complete the online consent form to receive a fan or AC unit.
📍 Fans can be picked up at Southern Regional Center and other Wake County Regional Centers.

We are so incredibly thankful to our community for showing up, and we want to give a huge shoutout to our instructor Caroline! Our community donated sweet tea, lemonade, pretzels, fruit, and pizza to make the night extra special. Thank you everyone!
