Service Above Self
We are a small local Rotary Club in the Sonora Desert of Arizona. Namely, we are in Quartzsite, Arizona, known as the Rock Capital of the World! About 3,600 people inhabit this small semi-rural town , burgeoning up to over 300,000 people with visitors and snowbirds for the winter season. Our mission has been to help as much as we possibly can to service our people in need during catastrophes, our local Food Bank, High School Scholarships (both Scholastic and Vocational), Sophomores and Juniors Candidates for RYLA, our seniors and veterans, children and schools (dictionaries, supplies), and several Rotary International programs such as End Polio Now. Our Fundraisers (5K Run, Walk, Rock N Roll; Casino Nights, Chili Cook-offs, Concerts, etc. are in the Fall through Winter months for our visitors and snowbirds to both enjoy and to further help us help others.
Throughout the year, “Service Above Self” is our mission, and passion. When our visitors and snowbirds leave, our service become paramount in our highway clean-ups (cleaning up before and after the winter big shows on Hwy AZ-95), in helping our seniors and children, volunteering where needed and just ‘being there’. We love our quirky little town and are happy to be part of this desert tapestry!
