Semper K9 Assistance Dogs Combat veteran founded 501(c)3, providing service dogs for wounded US service members.

Combat veteran founded and operated, Semper K9’s mission is to enhance the quality of life for wounded members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families by providing them custom-trained mental health mobility service dogs. Using rescued and donated dogs Semper K9 provides service dogs for psychiatric alert and mobility challenges free of charge to disabled American veterans across the country.

🐾 Meet the Dogs: On the Road to Graduation 🎓🇺🇸

This week, we’re introducing you to another service dog in training approaching an exciting new chapter in his Semper K9 journey: Hanford! 🐾

Hanford is an English Lab generously donated by Sliding G Ranch and named in memory of U.S. Army veteran Earl “Hank” Hanford, Jr.

Hank served during the Korean War as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army’s Intelligence Division. After his military service, he spent nearly 40 years as a letter carrier and later continued giving back to his community through Meals on Wheels.

Today, Hanford proudly carries his name as he trains for a mission of his own: helping a veteran regain greater confidence and independence. 🇺🇸

With every new skill and training milestone, Hanford is getting closer to putting all of his hard work to use alongside a veteran.

We’re excited to see what’s next for this good boy! ❤️🐾

🐾 Meet the Dogs On the Road to Graduation 🎓🇺🇸

Over the next few weeks, we’re introducing you to some of the incredible service dogs in training who are reaching an exciting stage in their Semper K9 journey. After months of learning, growing, and putting their skills to work, these pups are getting closer to the day they’ll put all that training into action alongside a veteran.

First up: Bonnie! 🤎🐾

Bonnie is a Chocolate Lab generously donated by Graystone Retrievers and named in memory of Semper K9 supporter Bonnie L. Aubin, a U.S. Navy veteran who dedicated 20 years to serving our country, retiring as a Senior Chief Petty Officer.

Just like the woman whose name she proudly carries, Bonnie is preparing for a life of service. Through every training session, public outing, and new skill learned, she’s working toward becoming a custom-trained service dog for a veteran in need.

We can’t wait to see where her journey takes her next. ❤️🇺🇸

Join us in welcoming one of our latest recruits, ! 🐾🇺🇸

Over the next 18 months or so, Rider will be learning, growing, and training to become a life-changing service dog for a veteran in need. From mastering basic obedience and navigating new environments to learning specialized tasks, this pup has an exciting journey ahead!

We can’t wait to watch Rider grow into his very important role. 💙🐾
