🦃🎨 Disguise a Turkey: Preschool Creativity at Its Best! 💙

Our November Preschool Family Engagement Project is under way!

Our preschoolers and their families are taking on the challenge of disguising a turkey, and just look at some of these incredible creations! From clever disguises to colorful details, each turkey is truly one of a kind. We are so impressed by the creativity! ✨

While the finished projects are certainly fun to admire, the heart of this activity is the time spent together. These projects encourage parents and children to work side by side, share ideas, get creative, and make special memories along the way. 🥰

We are so grateful for the partnership of Volunteer New York! and RAND Engineering & Architecture! ❤️

Thank you to everyone who took the time to assemble these Feelings Kits for the children in our programs. Providing children with tools to recognize, understand, and express their emotions is an important part of helping them grow with confidence.

It is partnerships like these that strengthen our ability to create meaningful opportunities for children to learn, grow, and thrive. Thank you for helping make a difference!

Last month, Volunteer New York! was proud to partner once again with the incredible team at RAND Engineering & Architecture, DPC for one of our quarterly virtual volunteer events. Together, employees assembled Feelings Kits for the YMCA of Central & Northern Westchester, helping create bilingual literacy resources that support children's social-emotional learning.

Through partnerships like this, we connect dedicated corporate volunteers with nonprofit organizations that need their support.

A heartfelt thank you to RAND for your continued commitment to service and for making these quarterly volunteer events a success. We look forward to many more opportunities to create positive impact together!

🎃👻 Happy Halloween from the YMCA of Central & Northern Westchester! 🧡

Wishing all our YMCA families a spook-tacular Halloween filled with fun, laughter, and lots of sweet memories! 🍬🕷️

We hope all our little ghosts, goblins, superheroes, and princesses have a wonderful time celebrating with family and friends. Remember to stay safe, look both ways when crossing the street, and check those treats!

🍂⏰ Don’t Forget to Fall Back! 💙

Daylight Saving Time ends this Sunday, November 1! Remember to turn your clocks back one hour before going to bed Saturday night. 🕰️

That means an extra hour of sleep for many of us! 😴💤

It’s also a great time to check the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors to help keep your home and loved ones safe.

🍂📚 Fall Into Reading at the Y! 💙

What better way to enjoy a good book than with a bookmark you colored yourself? 🖍️📖

Our after-school children have been getting creative with some fun, fall-themed bookmarks, and we’re loving every one of them! From a squirrel declaring “I’m Nuts About Books” 🐿️ to apples reminding us to “Pick A Great Book” 🍎, an owl sharing that “Reading Is A Real Hoot” 🦉, and a raccoon encouraging us to “Fall Into Reading” 🦝, these little works of art are full of personality!

Activities like these bring creativity and a love of reading together, giving children a chance to express themselves while celebrating the joy of books. And now, every reading adventure can have a special handmade bookmark along for the journey! 💙

Keep turning those pages and letting your imagination grow! 🍁✨

🦊🎨 F Is for Fox! 💙

Learning our letters is even more fun when we add a little creativity! Our UPK children got crafty and turned the letter F into a fox, bringing their learning to life through art. ✂️🧡

Activities like these help children recognize letters, strengthen fine motor skills, and use their imaginations while having fun along the way.

We love seeing our young learners discover new things, express their creativity, and take pride in their work. Just look at these adorable foxes! 🦊🍂

🍁🎨 Fall Fun & Creativity at the Y! 💙

Our after-school children have been getting creative this fall, and we’re loving what they’ve been making! From colorful painted trees and spooky skeleton art to wobbly construction-paper pumpkins and beautiful paper leaf creations, our young artists have been bringing the season to life in their own unique ways. 🍂🎃💀

Art is a wonderful way for children to express themselves, explore their creativity, and take pride in what they create. We love seeing their imaginations shine and watching their personalities come through in every project!
