Welcome to Ohio families in and around Avon Lake!

After two years with no French high school age students able to to spend three weeks here in the USA due to Covid, we're delighted to announce that not one but two small groups (six girls and four boys 7/12-31, four girls and six boys 8/1-20) will be flying into Cleveland. Jill Werling-Quinn will once again overseeing the fun - the daytrips, picnic and, of course, the wellbeing of all.

My name is Vera and I'm posting from World Exchange's home-based HQ in Putnam Valley, NY. Together with Jill I'll be assisting in any way that I can. All of the students' forms and "Dear host family" letters have arrived already and Jill has them ready to show to interested hosts. What I can't do to help her is to actually find the new local families who are going to invite the french teens into their homes (...and hearts!)

April's 10-day spring break visits were a great success!
Last week we said "au revoir" to Clémentine, Gabriel, Giulietta, Laura, Maé, Stéphanie, and Zéphyrine and French leader Sandra, who were welcomed by wonderful host families in Cranford, NJ and Bedford/Pound Ridge NY. Our thanks also go to the high schools in both areas for making it possible for the French students to become part of their community for a few days.

The 2017 hosting dates are set! We are excited to announce that this year more adventurous, curious and excited French teens will be coming to stay with us again...

April 3rd - 13th in New Jersey and the Hudson Valley, NY.

July 12th - 31st in New Jersey, Ohio (Columbus, Mansfield and Toledo) and California (Clovis, Fresno).

August 1st - 20th in Ohio (Cleveland area) Northern California.

October 22nd - 31st in New Jersey and the Hudson Valley NY.

Nina (first here in April 2015) comes back to NY to stay with Caitlin, Abby, Christa and Rick again in 2016. It's not unusual for the friendships made during a homestay to last a lifetime!

Great news! After a difficult year in France, a group of French students will be visiting us as usual in October! High school communities in Westchester and Putnam Counties NY are busy getting ready to offer a warm welcome and to share their daily lives for nine days, 10/20 - 10/29. We're especially looking forward to introducing the French teens to the joys of our beautiful Lower Hudson Valley Fall season.
