Youth need to be 9 years old to participate and also be members of McClain County 4-H.

I’m reposting what I posted earlier last month. If you know anyone with the skills, the interest and time and patience to work with kids, Please let them know that 4-H coach training is coming up in December. Now is a good time to sign up as a certified volunteer on zsuites. This is required to become a 4-H coach. The process includes a background check as we work with kids. It can take a bit of time. So please consider this. There should be coach training again in March and August of next year.
We will practice until the end of April 2027. Then we are stepping down. Our hope is to work with those interested in taking over so they can get an idea of what is involved in running the club.
Please consider this. Just ask us anything at practices or message us. We’d love to see the club carry on!

Tomorrow night is archery! 6:30! Reminder. We have information for the upcoming Coach training in December. Please consider becoming a Coach as this is a great time to get trained and join us at practice before we all retire. It’s a great bonding experience and chance to be a role model to other kids and be there as they learn a skill, gain confidence and make great friends!

Today we came to Stillwater to do the Outdoor Fun Shoot. We got to break in the middle due to thunder and lightening! Not much rain. Then finished with Tommy as Intermediate Compound 1st place! Everett as Senior Recurve 2nd place and Kenton as Junior Compound 3rd Place! A great showing by Sophie and Tyler! Your kids represented us well! Very proud of the way the shoot and conduct themselves!

Tonight is Air R***e/Air Pistol at 6:30!
Next week is Archery.
Please make sure you’ve updated enrollment for your youth. It must be done yearly. And all returning members need to do the youth shooting safety class in z-Suites! It’s required and replaces state hunter safety.

Join us for an afternoon of family fun at the McClain County 4-H Fall Festival on Saturday, October 3rd at the McClain County Farm & Home Building. Activities begin at 1:00 p.m.

This fun-filled event will feature: 🎃 Pumpkin Decorating Contest 🥧 Pie Eating Contest 🍰 Food Category Exhibits, including categories where parents are encouraged to participate

There is something for everyone, so gather your family and come celebrate the fall season with McClain County 4-H!

We had a fun but hot day at the Garvin County 3-D Archery shoot! We had Kenton place 1st in junior compound. Sophie placed 2nd in junior genesis. And Tommy came in 1st in Intermediate Compound! Pretty good course and challenging for the kids!
