🌊🐠 Ocean of Possibilities — 2022

During our Ocean of Possibilities Summer Reading Program, children joined Miss Lori and Miss Cindy for an ocean-inspired craft! They learned about the different layers of the ocean and discovered which amazing sea creatures make their homes in each zone. 🌊🐙🐋

To bring the layers to life, the children decorated canisters with colorful strips of blue paper, creating their own ocean-themed creations! 💙

What a fun way to dive into learning and creativity! 📚✨

🍽️ 1998 — A “Taste-full” Evening for the Library! 🍽️

In 1998, the Giles County Public Library had plenty to celebrate after the third annual Gourmet Food Tasting and Auction raised an incredible $12,000 for the library! 📚❤️

More than 200 people attended the event, enjoying an assortment of gourmet dishes before placing bids on special dishes they could take home. Friends of the Library President Marsha Jacobs called it the largest fundraiser ever held for the library at that time.

Some of the evening’s biggest bids included a gourmet dinner to be prepared in the home of David and Beverly Johnson, a lobster dinner offered by Bob Massey, Ed Murrey, and David Rackley that sold for an impressive $775, and a brunch for 10 that brought in $400.

Helping auctioneer Donnie Moore keep the bids coming were Emily Pollard, Jane Lee Robertson, and Elaine Hickman.

What a delicious way to support the library! 😋📖
