🦁 June 1 commemorates the lucrative anniversary of Helen Keller (deceased in 1968) and is recognized worldwide by Lions Clubs International as "Helen Keller Day."

Helen Keller's Challenge and Legacy. πŸ’œπŸ’›

πŸ’œ The Challenge: In 1925, Helen Keller attended the International Convention of Lions Clubs and challenged them to become "the knights of the blind on the crusade against darkness."

πŸ’› The Response: Since then, on June 1, Lions Clubs around the world (including branches in Costa Rica) carry out large-scale vision-related service projects, such as free screenings, donation of glasses, and campaigns to eradicate preventable blindness.
