🦁 June 1 commemorates the lucrative anniversary of Helen Keller (deceased in 1968) and is recognized worldwide by Lions Clubs International as "Helen Keller Day."
Helen Keller's Challenge and Legacy. 💜💛
💜 The Challenge: In 1925, Helen Keller attended the International Convention of Lions Clubs and challenged them to become "the knights of the blind on the crusade against darkness."
💛 The Response: Since then, on June 1, Lions Clubs around the world (including branches in Costa Rica) carry out large-scale vision-related service projects, such as free screenings, donation of glasses, and campaigns to eradicate preventable blindness.
