Working people built Pueblo.

But wannabe millionaires, fringe religious political groups, and out-of-town corporate money keep buying politicians and rigging the rules against us. Against you.

We fight every day for fair pay, health care, pensions, and time with our families. And we endorse candidates who will stand with working people, not the bosses.

This is about dignity. This is about fairness. This is about making sure Pueblo's future belongs to the people who actually live and work here, not the wealthy few who want to own it.

If you work every day to keep food on the table and the lights on, you're one of us.

Pueblo belongs to working people. We intend to keep it that way.

Happy Pride Month!

🚨 UNION TOWN ENDORSEMENT ALERT 🚨

Pueblo is at a crossroads. Nearly half of working families here have costs that outpace their incomes. Washington is coming after the programs workers depend on. And anti-worker forces are working overtime to roll back the gains we've fought decades to win.

We need leaders who don't just say they're with us, or that their granddad was union. We need leaders who show up.

Angela Giron, Candace Rivera, Naseem Zubi, Kim Archuletta, and Allen Medina have been at our rallies. They stand with us on the picket lines. They go to bat for working people in the halls of power.

That's why the Southern Colorado Labor Council is proud to endorse them for Pueblo County Commissioner, Clerk & Recorder, Assessor, Treasurer, and Sheriff.

County government touches your life every day — your property taxes, your elections, your public safety, how your tax dollars get invested in economic development. We need people making those decisions who know whose side they're on.

This is Union Town. Let's keep it that way.

Angela Giron For Pueblo County
Candace Rivera for Pueblo County Clerk and Recorder
Kim Archuletta- Pueblo County Treasurer & Public Trustee
Naseem Zubi
Allen Medina for Pueblo County Sheriff

Let's set the record straight.

You may have seen that Sheriff Lucero is celebrating the dismissal of one unfair labor practice complaint as if it vindicates his entire record. It does not.

Here is what actually happened. When IBPO Local 837 filed an unfair labor practice complaint against Lucero for refusing to bargain, the state forced him to the table. He negotiated because the law made him. The complaint was dismissed because the process worked -- not because Lucero had a change of heart.

His own argument amounts to this: "I stopped breaking the law after they made me stop breaking the law, so I didn't actually break the law." That is not a defense. That is a confession with extra steps.
Here is what his press release leaves out.

There are additional unfair labor practice complaints still active against him. His lawsuit -- filed against his own deputies' union, funded with $45,000 of Pueblo County taxpayer money -- is still very much alive as of today. And this announcement was made not on his campaign page, but on the official Pueblo County Sheriff's Office page, using the resources of his public office to manage his political narrative just a few weeks before a primary election!

The backstops in the law worked. IBPO Local 837 got their contract. Dave Lucero did the bare minimum the law required of him, and only after being compelled to do it.

That is not leadership. That is not solidarity with the men and women who serve this community every day. And it is not a record worth celebrating.

The Southern Colorado Labor Council endorsed Allen Medina for Pueblo County Sheriff. That endorsement stands.

Never cross a picket line! The 'Red Cup Rebellion' is in full swing as Starbucks workers strike against the company's refusal to negotiate in good faith.

NO CONTRACT, NO COFFEE!
Boycott all Starbucks locations until these corporate tyrants get back to the table for meaningful negotiations.

In solidarity with Starbucks Workers United✊️

This Veterans Day, COWINS honors all those who served in the US Armed Forces, especially the broad network of state workers who served their country and continue to help make Colorado run.

We would also like to acknowledge the hundreds of state workers in CDHS Veterans Community Living Centers and the Department of Military & Veterans Affairs who provide critical services to Colorado's veterans every day.

We see you. Thank you.
