From Pueblo Airport to the Campaign Trail: Getting to Know Our Candidates
After our morning at Pueblo Airport, Jimi and I headed over to the Republican candidates’ forum at Veterans Mall, at 26th and Elizabeth. We had the opportunity to meet several candidates running for office and listen to them discuss their platforms and what they hope to accomplish if elected.
It was a valuable opportunity to hear directly from the people seeking to represent our community and learn more about the issues they believe matter most.
As we move closer to Election Day, I’m hoping to arrange as many candidate interviews as possible—not just with Republicans, but with Democrats as well. My goal is to give KOYC listeners an opportunity to get to know the candidates beyond the campaign signs, slogans, and political advertisements.
Who are these candidates? What do they stand for? What are their priorities? And, perhaps most importantly, what are they promising to do if elected, and how do they intend to accomplish those goals?
I believe our listeners deserve the opportunity to hear the answers directly from the candidates themselves. By speaking with candidates from both parties, we can provide a broader understanding of their positions, their priorities, and their visions for our community and our state.
At KOYC 98.5 FM, our goal is to inform our listeners and encourage them to ask questions, examine the issues, and make their own decisions at the ballot box.
An informed voter is an empowered voter. And before we cast our ballots, we should have every opportunity to hear what the candidates have to say—in their own words.
