What happens when we make even a small change to the gospel?

In this week’s Grace Unchained recap, Pastor Kevin and Pastor Scott discuss how a distorted gospel leads to a distorted view of God. We may begin to see Him as a tyrant, a lenient grandfather, or an efficiency-driven CEO instead of the holy and generous God revealed in Scripture.

Because we naturally feel the need to perform, prove ourselves, and make up for our failures, God’s unconditional grace can feel too good to be true. That is why we need to preach the gospel to ourselves every day. The more we learn to rest in His grace, the happier and freer we become.

Father, thank You for First Baptist Prosper and for every person You have called us to love and serve. Bless this church, strengthen Your people, and make us faithful to proclaim Christ and His gospel. Fill these seats with people who need hope, families who need community, and hearts ready to hear Your Word. Draw the lost to Christ, grow Your church, and let everything that happens in this room be for Your glory.

Lord, fill Your house and build Your church. Amen.

Jesus didn't come simply to make life better. He came to give us new life. Through His death and resurrection, Christ conquered the grave and gave us a hope that death can never take away. Because He lives, we can truly live.
