I had always heard of some people writing letters to loved ones, in some form or fashion, so that formed the basis of what I wanted to do. I planned on writing handwritten letters, at no particular interval, to be sealed and dated for opening at some future point in Luca's life. Becoming a teenager, his first car, graduating High School, going to college, finding the love of his life, and so forth
. All of these letters were to be dated, on dates determined by me, for which to be opened at that time in the future. Unfortunately, I was only able to complete my first and only letter. I had not actually dated the letter for opening yet, because I had not fully decided on a date. So, after our tragic accident, I was able to take the letter to the hospital during his stay, and I read the letter out loud to him and a few of my family members. I will continue to write letters to him going into the future. That is the story of Letters For Luca.
