School supply deals are happening at Target!

If you're out shopping and spot a great deal, consider picking up a few extra school supplies for our Back to School Bash.

Our event is just one month away, and we're hard at work organizing school- and grade-specific supplies for 450 local children. Every backpack is carefully packed with exactly what each student needs for their grade level, which means a lot of supplies to sort, organize, and pack!

You can help in two easy ways:

🎉 Graduation Spotlight 🎉

(Name changed to protect privacy.)

When Sally came to Cornerstone in October 2025, she had recently lost her job and was struggling to make ends meet while searching for new employment.

Over the next 7 months, Sally worked closely with a Cornerstone case manager to build a budget, develop a job search plan, and work toward financial stability. Through persistence and hard work, she secured a new job and later found a second job that helped her regain her financial footing.

During her time in the program, Cornerstone provided $1,000 in utility assistance along with personalized coaching, accountability, and encouragement.

Today, Sally has graduated from our program and is moving forward with confidence.

✔️ 227 requests for assistance received
✔️ 342 local Neighbors served
✔️ 73 one-on-one meetings with volunteer case managers
✔️ Nearly $20,000 invested in utility assistance

And we're not done yet!

Next month, we're preparing to serve 440 local students through our Back to School Bash—providing backpacks, school supplies, new shoes, spirit wear, and a day of celebration. It's an $85,900 investment in local children and families.

What an incredible night, last night!

A huge thank you to Kimberly Galentine Palmer, Meghan Casey Miller & Happy Heart Mahjong for hosting such a wonderful Mahjong for a Mission event benefiting Cornerstone!

Thanks to the generosity of everyone who attended, we raised over $3,000, welcomed more than 80 players to Black Hawk Brewery , and collected a fantastic number of backpacks for our upcoming Back to School Bash.

From the amazing raffle prizes and perfect venue to the fun, laughter, and community spirit, every detail helped make this a truly spectacular evening.

Thank you to everyone who played, donated, volunteered, and supported our mission.

🎉 Case Management Graduation Spotlight 🎉

Today we’re celebrating an incredible single mom who has graduated from our case management program after six months!

When her mother became ill and needed to move into her home, life became challenging. We came alongside her as she worked through her budget and searched for additional employment.

Today, her mother’s health has improved, she has returned to her previous employer, and she’s even taken on a second job to help her family move forward.

Her hard work and determination have paid off, and we couldn’t be more proud. Join us in congratulating her on this milestone!
