The Rails Endowment for Academic, Art and Athletic Development (REA3D) is the Proctor Area Educational Foundation.

REA3D was established to serve learners of all ages within Proctor School District communities. Dedicated to the support of life-long learning within the Proctor School District communities.

OCTOBER’S PICK FOR REA3D BOOK CLUB! 📚

Reading is one of the best ways to pursue lifelong learning. That’s why we’re taking a moment at the beginning of each month to spotlight a book recommended by a community member in the Proctor School District. You can check out all book club selections to date at https://rea3d.org/bookclub/

This month’s book recommendation comes from Brea Schminski. She recommends “The Gifts of Imperfection” by Brene Brown. Brea says, “This is one of my favorite reads of all time because it focuses on being your authentic self and it is a book I have highlighted and written in a ton! Brene Brown is a social scientist and she has done a lot of research on human connection and has SO many other great books, but this one is my favorites. I love how she focuses on the fact that no one lives a perfect life and that we really need to lean into each other through connection, even if it can be messy and uncomfortable sometimes. I appreciate her focus to embrace our imperfections!”

HELP TURN OUR BOOKSHELF “READ”!

During this Back-to-School Season, REA3D is raising funds for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library! In 2027, it will cost $6,000 to continue offering this book-gifting program to families in the Proctor School District. Reaching this goal will allow the mailing of over 2,400 books to 200 pre-school children in our school district throughout the year.

With a $400 donation, you or your organization can sponsor one whole month of book-gifting in 2027! Or with a $31 donation, you can support one child receiving a book each month throughout the year.

WE'RE 30 YEARS OLD! 🥳

On September 11, 1996, REA3D (Rails Endowment for Academic, Art and Athletic Development) was officially established as a non-profit organization.

Since then, REA3D has awarded more than $200,000 to heighten academic, art, and athletic programs in Proctor Schools communities. 🤯

This milestone is a celebration of YOU—the donors, fundraising event attendees, board members, and the Proctor Schools community that has shown up for quality education and lifelong learning during our journey so far.

This month’s book recommendation comes from Ryan Krajewski. He recommends "The Go-Giver: A Little Story About a Powerful Business Idea” by Bob Burg and John David Mann. Ryan says, “In addition to being one of my favorites, I think it builds nicely on several of our past selections… It’s a short, easy-to-read parable built around a simple but somewhat counterintuitive idea: that the best way to get ahead may be to spend less time thinking about what we can get and more time thinking about the value we can give to others. The principles in this book struck a chord with me when I first read it. You may agree with them, disagree with them, or find some more practical than others. I think that’s what should make for a good discussion. I hope you enjoy it.”

I read a lot of those.”

This month’s book recommendation comes from Sherri Johnson. She recommends "Angela’s Ashes" by Frank McCourt. Sherri says, “I selected this title because it's a memoir that is informative on many levels and manages to be entertaining in the midst of continual hardships and struggles. It's the kind of read that sticks to your memory. An added bonus is that the audiobook version is read by the author who has a lovely Irish brogue.”
