PFLAG Prineville needs your help! I (Becky Groves) have stepped down as President due to health issues. As a lot of you know, I have absolutely loved working for and with the LGBTQ+ community for 20+ years but my cancer is now Stage 4 with metastatic cancer to the brain. My life is full of Dr apts and treatments. So it was a necessity. My hope is that PFLAG Prineville will continue in this community, but we need help! Beth Mitchell has agreed to be interim President but they are considering moving to be closer to their new grandbaby. Keya Rohovit-Wrolson is a fantastic treasurer and is a wonderful support person to the President. She does not want to be President and frankly, Treasurer is a harder position to fill. Nathaniel Dunaway, is a great connection with the GSA and drama students who frequently attend mtgs and Madelinn Rose is our secretary and does a great job as well as does a lot of events we table at. She is great at talking to people and getting the word out. This is a board that works really well together! So please consider either becoming a member or being on our board and coming to this next meeting, filling your tummy, and you may even win $100!

PFLAG Prineville has been strategizing about to become more involved in our schools with a mission of keeping our LGBTQ+ loved ones safe and supported. We don't have any pressing issues right now but we have questions about some things including why the GSA (Gender and Sexuality Alliance) is a non-accredited group and why they don't receive funding that other groups get. We also have a plan to meet with administration and ask these questions but for now, this is our plan.

We are going to attend school board mtgs with the intent of showing our presence and that we care. We are here and available for resources and we intend to get involved in a friendly way and get our questions answered.

If you are interested in joining us, let me know and you will get a free t-shirt to wear to the meeting.
