As many of you know, this will be Stephanie’s last recital with us.
We would love for you to join us for “Stephanie’s Last Bow”, taking place between our recital shows, as we celebrate her, her legacy, and the incredible impact she has had on our studio and community. If Stephanie has ever impacted you or your dancer’s life in any way, we would love for you to come celebrate with us. To honor her, to thank her, and to be part of this very special moment.
There are some people whose stories become so deeply woven into a studio and dance community that it’s impossible to tell one without the other. Stephanie is one of those people.
From a very young age, Stephanie gave her heart to dance at High Desert Dance Arts. It wasn’t just something she did. It was who she was. She grew up in the studio, dedicating countless hours to her training and the art that shaped her into the person we all know and love today.
After graduating from high school, Stephanie and her husband Jace built their life together and welcomed their wonderful son Ward. In the years that followed, she focused on her family and the life they were creating, stepping fully into motherhood and marriage. Dance, however, was always still a part of her. When the opportunity came to return through an adult class, it quickly grew into something more, and once again, she chose to give her time, energy, and love to High Desert Dance Arts and the dancer within the walls.
And she didn’t just return. She poured herself in.
Stephanie became not only a teacher, but a mentor, a safe place, and a constant for so many dancers. When High Desert Dance Arts closed, she was part of the heart and vision that helped bring Unite to life. She believed in this studio, in these dancers, and in this community, and she helped build what we are so lucky to have today.
For years, she has given her free time so selflessly. She has shown up again and again with patience, encouragement, and a deep love for every dancer who has walked into her classroom. Her impact isn’t just seen in technique or performance. It’s felt in confidence, in growth, and in the way our dancers carry themselves both inside and outside of the studio.
And now, Stephanie is stepping into a new chapter.
This decision comes from a place of peace and excitement as she shifts her focus to a different season of life. She is leaving on the best of terms, surrounded by so much love, and we could not be more supportive or proud of her.
While it’s never easy to say goodbye to someone who has meant so much, this isn’t a goodbye. It’s a celebration of everything she has given and everything she will continue to be.
Stephanie has always been especially passionate about our Senior Scholarship Fund, and in her honor, we will be accepting donations during her celebration and throughout both performances. This scholarship is dedicated to dancers who have given so much of their lives to dance but may not receive traditional academic or athletic scholarships to support their college journey. While our contribution may be small, it carries a powerful message: we see your dedication, we honor your sacrifice, and we are here to support you.
While there are specific requirements for graduating seniors, this is something every Unite dancer can work toward and be recognized for in the future, something Stephanie has always believed in so deeply.
The show immediately following the celebration will be Stephanie’s final performance. One last chance to celebrate, cheer, and honor the incredible legacy she brings to the stage and the dancers she has loved and shaped along the way.
We hope to see you there!
