The Grimes Family Christmas Scene is a Prineville Oregon Tradition. This amazing collection of thous Thank you Grimes Family

The Grimes Family Christmas Scene an over 80 year tradition in Prineville, Oregon is a collection of miniature houses, buildings, and characters collected by Bethene Callison Grimes. For over 40 years the Christmas Scene was only seen by visiting the Grimes Home where the family set it up every year. As it grew so did the space it needed and for years the scene was set up in vacant buildings around Prineville Oregon. For the last 4 years the Christmas Scene is housed in the old 4-H Building at the Crook County Fair Grounds. The scene has now been made a 501(C)3 Non-Profit so that it can continue to be part of Crook County living for decades to come. We welcome you to come and see the scene and be reminded that Christmas is in every person's heart and that there is a child in us all.

Santa Room Schedule for 2026
The Jolly Old Elf is checking his lists and he is joining us at the Christmas Scene!
Saturday November 28th--after the Christmas Parade- Santa arrives till 8pm.
November 29th- 5 pm to 8pm
December
Fridays- 4 pm to 8pm
Saturdays 4pm to 8pm
Sundays 4pm to 8pm
Santa must return to the North Pole late on Sunday December 20th.
Parents:
Bring your own cameras and we have two backdrops to chose from. Our backdrops allow for large families.
The Christmas Scene provides each child with a meaningful experience with Santa. No child is forced to sit on Santa's lap. We have lots of chairs for your child to sit and talk to Santa. Because we want your child to have a positive experience you might have a longer wait time. We strongly recommend you come early in the season.

The Christmas Scene opens to the public:
Friday November 27th 1-8 pm
Saturday November 28th 1 -8 pm
Sunday November 29th 1-8 pm
December
Fridays: 5 pm- 8 pm
Saturdays 1 pm- 8 pm
Sundays 1- 8 pm
Christmas Eve 1pm to Close.
Updates in 2026- our 89th season-a brand new Gingerbread Village, with smaller updates to lots of other villages, a refreshed Santa Room.

My dad Jay would always come and sit with Mom at the Christmas Scene on Christmas Eve. It is still such a special night!
It is the last night of our season!
She will be there from 1 pm till close. Christmas in the Pines is open as well!

Tonight we celebrate the Winter Solstice...the longest night of the year!

As we come to end of the holiday season...tonight is our last night with Santa Claus! 5 pm to 8 pm!
Crowds have been massive so we ask for patience and kindness!
The last day of our season is Christmas Eve from 1 pm till close. It is a time of conversation and friends to come and enjoy the Christmas Scene!
