Town Topics took a close look at what it takes to keep Princeton covered.

"We are the people who come when your neighbor calls 911." Ari Meisel, Executive Director

Career EMTs and volunteers answer the same calls, side by side, for the same community. We're recruiting both. You don't need to be a certified EMT to start as a volunteer. Everyone begins with a monthly info session.

Read the story and sign up for the next session in the first comment. Thank you, Town Topics, for telling our story.

What does it take to keep an ambulance staffed when the municipal budget never catches up?

Our Executive Director, Ari Meisel, wrote about it for Domestic Preparedness: how EMS agencies are building funding that doesn't depend on one source. Grants, corporate partners, events and a donation habit, built one stream at a time.

At PFARS, about 95% of our funding comes from this community. Every resident gets the same response, whether they've given five dollars or five thousand.

Lunch showed up at the station today, and so did the team from Princeton Federal Credit Union.

They spent time with our crew, brought lunch and some fun swag, and said thank you for the work we do for this community. We felt it.

Thank you, Federal Credit Union. Our community is a better place with you in it.

From the Archives No. 09

Snow on the ground. Every rig out front.

An early-1960s winter morning at the station: a box-style rescue truck and two Cadillac-style ambulances lined up in front of the brick building, a member stepping down from the truck. 87 years after our founding in 1939, the uniforms and the vehicles have changed. The job hasn't.

Yesterday our Executive Director, Ari Meisel, testified before the NJ Senate Legislative Oversight Committee on making emergency medical services an essential service in New Jersey.

His message: people still want to serve. The state's training and onboarding process is too slow.

"Every week of delay is a week we lose a good person."

Thank you to the New Jersey Monitor for covering the hearing. Full story in the first comment.

Fall in full color at The Bedens Brook Club.

Swipe through some of our favorite moments from the first annual Drive for Lives Golf Classic. Golfers, sponsors, and neighbors all came out for the Squad, and it showed.

Thank you for every swing.

Thank you, Princeton.

On Tuesday, golfers, sponsors, and friends filled The Bedens Brook Club for the first annual Drive for Lives Golf Classic. Beautiful fall day. Great people. Everything we hoped for.

Every swing supported the Squad. Every sponsor helped keep our ambulances ready and our crews trained.

Thank you to everyone who played, sponsored, and showed up for your neighbors.

🔥 Fire Prevention Week is here — Oct 4–10.

This year's national theme is "Charge Into Fire Safety": a reminder that everyday charging habits for e-bikes, scooters, phones, and power banks are one of the fastest-growing home fire risks.

A few habits that make a real difference this week:
✅ Test your smoke alarms
✅ Charge batteries in sight, away from exits, never overnight unattended
✅ Walk your family's escape plan

Proud to work alongside our friends at Princeton Fire Department all year to keep our community safe.
