We would like to thank Chris with Marshall Disposal, Inc. for spending his Sunday morning with us and providing an informative training session on fires and rescue situations involving trash collection trucks.

Chris brought one of Marshall Disposal’s collection trucks and walked our crews through the unique challenges associated with these types of incidents. Our crews also had the opportunity to participate in a couple of simulated rescue evolutions.

This was an excellent hands-on training opportunity, and we truly appreciate Marshall Disposal, Inc. for taking the time to train with us and share their expertise!

Patoka Township Fire and Rescue was out in the community this morning speaking on fire prevention and what to do in the case of a fire. We would like to thank The Center for having us out as part of their AARP Challenge Program Grant for breakfast and to answer any questions they had about fire extinguishers and what to do in the case of a fire in their homes.
It is important for you and anyone you live with to have a plan in place in the case of an emergency or disaster. For fires make sure to get out as fast as you can, shutting the door behind you and remember to never go back into a fire. For disasters, put together a small bag of essentials you may need such as non-perishable foods, bottled water, or a change of clothes. Emergency weather radios are a great tool to have in your home in case of severe weather.
