PTFR participated in 4th grade Ag- Day at the fairgrounds today. We had the opportunity to be present in two different stations. One to explain our job and the various equipment and apparatus we use. The second was a demonstration on grain bin rescue and farm safety. Thank you to the Purdue Extension with Gibson County 4-H for the invitation and delicious lunch from Port Side Coffee Company!

PTFR’s FF Walker, Lt Hagerty and FF Young break down a suction hose today after inspecting, back flushing, and flowing water from the dry hydrant at the Fish & Wildlife Conservation Club’s Lake Gibson.

Dry hydrants provide an alternative water supply for rural areas where no municipal fire hydrants are located.

Today's crew conducted ice rescue training at Camp Carson this morning. PTFR is very appreciative of our partnership with Camp Carson and their willingness to allow us to train and utilize their property to better ourselves for the citizens we serve. As a reminder with the warmer temperatures coming it is best practice to stay off any ice covered bodies of water.

PTFR has remained busy over the past week, participating in various activities. Firefighters presented fire extinguisher training to Millennium Steel Service employees. Work continues on construction of the training tower at Station 2 on White Church Road, which will provide a controlled environment for firefighters to practice essential firefighting skills. Our certified fire investigators attended the International Association of Arson Investigators conference in Hendricks County. The Deaconess Heartsaver Program generously donated an automatic external defibrillator (AED) to our organization. We also participated in High Five Friday at Princeton Community Intermediate School, an enjoyable experience for our firefighters. We appreciate the opportunity to serve our community!

Today, PTFR personnel concluded building tours at Toyota Boshoku Indiana (TBIN). Familiarity with facilities like TBIN enables our firefighters to respond more effectively in emergencies, and we appreciate the opportunity to provide this training to our staff.
